It was impossible to look without grief at the images of Terri Schiavo starving slowly to death in a Florida hospice. It has, alas, become impossible in America to look at such a tragic set of circumstances without hysteria.

Those of us who have long worried that unleashing religious fundamentalism into the bloodstream of American politics would lead to disaster can feel only that our fears have now come true.

Besides being the shrub's unabashed cheerleader when the war was ginning up (who has since in his distinctfully cowardly way slunk down off that particular soapbox after labelling all who disagreed with shrub's assessment of the "threat" of Saddam's imaginary WMD's as treasonous fifth columnists), as well as shrub's continuing cheerleader now except for one brief moment during the presidential campaign when Kerry held the lead in the polls so he was for Kerry for a minute or two...he is an unapologetic liberal-basher.

He's a POS with no principles and if you follow his track record you will see he's consistent only in his inconsistency...in short, a flip-flopper such as the world has never seen short of the chimp himself.

I think Andrew Sullivan has it right. I am surprised that I agree with him.
This is a family decision. It is a states' rights domain.
It is not something that the Federal Government should be involved in. It is not something that hypocritical repukes who send young men and women off to Iraq to die, and who support capital punishment have the right to use "sanctity of life" as an excuse to use for politcal fodder.

Why do so many of these journalists get basic facts of a story all mixed up or just plain wrong.

1. There are no images of Terri Schiavo slowly starving to death
coming out of the hospice in Florida.

2. The boy in Texas who had is life support withdrawn was 6 months
old not 8-years old.

What is wrong with these people, if I know these facts so should they. At the very least, they should be verified before printing them in major newspapers.

I say we use that term from now on. Not NeoCon, which sounds like some sort of "new" version chili. Republican is clearly no longer a viable term to describe the party which is borrowing the name. It is nice to think back on the Republican party via the historical perspective, but the actual GOP is not a functional, viable, group. So let us call the NeoCons what they are, parasites. I think we should take the language back and call things by their proper names, not by the fabricated constructs of the psychotic Luntz.
