Porter Goss' move to keep the lid on the CIA

2 More Top CIA Officials Quit Over New Leadership

By Greg Miller, Times Staff Writer

WASHINGTON — The resignations of two more senior CIA officials Monday fueled debate in the intelligence community over whether the agency was tumbling into turmoil under new Director Porter J. Goss, or was taking painful but necessary steps toward fixing serious problems.<snip>

The departures alarmed agency veterans, who said morale was plummeting under Goss' stewardship and that the agency was increasingly in disarray at a time when it was struggling to stay abreast of terrorist threats and the insurgency in Iraq.<snip>

Some CIA critics argue that still more departures are necessary to bring to heel an agency that many Republicans accused of seeking to sandbag Bush during the presidential campaign by leaking information that warned of the deteriorating situation in post-war Iraq.<snip>

8. Neocons control media/information via ownership.
They own the ballot box via BBV and local flunkies posing as public servants/office holders.

The one loose end is info seeping out trough intel officers who do their jobs honorably and in service to the nation, not to a fascists agenda. They cannot control everything until the intell is castrated.

When they are done dismantling CIA, they will call it a Mission A
Accomplished before the American people: they made the changes recommended by the 9-11 Commission.

9. The focus needs to shift to the CIA selection
practices because who is hired will also have a huge impact. In other words the seeds of intelligence destruction are being sown at all levels because there is no recognition or reward for speaking truth to power. This is what caused 9/11 and all the major (known)intelligence screw ups before this. James Bamford, William Odom, The Jersey Girls must be going absolutely nutz!

30. I Wonder
Kappes's and Sulick's resignation follow a series of confrontations with Goss's new chief of staff, Patrick Murray, the former intelligence committee staff director and a Justice Department official.

Exactly what this little dust up is about? Spying on US citizens, perhaps?

stamp of approval....I used to have some hope for McCain, not anymore...he hates Bush, so why did he campaign for him? And he can't possibly think that this "housecleaning and purging" is good? If he does, then he's a lost cause..if he doesn't, yet rubber-stamps everything for these guys, then we are in big trouble because if they can control McCain, then they are really more dangerous than we can imagine...

I would like to know what happened to that report as well. Wasn't it completed in July? Wasn't it supposed to come out after the election? Well, that was two weeks ago. Someone is sitting on this thing.

Our government is going all bad very quickly.

I have heard people say they would not be surprised to see a new civil war in this country. I do not think it would take too teribly much more to set it off.

56. did you mention CIVIL WAR?
Who is gonna fight who? I mean seriously, there is nothing for anyone to fight. Even when millions of people demonstrate in the streets of New York and the rest of the country against going to war in Iraq, it barely gets reported by anyone. Nobody will hear of any uprising if it ever happens; fine it will probably make it to the blogosphere and leftist forums like DU, but I'm afraid to say that it's not nearly enough yet. The government propaganda machine is well-oiled after four years of truth-spinning, reality-bending, mind-altering action. The bush-quasimodo thing didn't get anywhere didn't it.
And now when anybody mentions election-fraud and vote-rigging they are laughed at and called tin-foil-hat conspiracy theorists.
In USA's virtual reality there is no room for such old fashion things as riots, civil-wars, political assassinations at the ballot box, fascism (of the, we know what's good for you, just give us your money and your soul, and just go back to that reality show you were watching).
And don't look to minorities to express their outrage. African-americans are back where they were before the civil-right movement, disenfranchised from actively taking part in a society based on money and not individual worth. It's not about the colour of your skin it's about how much green-back you have.
The civil-rights movement gave African-americans more rights in the american society. Today the civil-rights movement applies to every single citizen of the united states of america.
You have technically speaking no more civil-rights.
The right to vote out a ruler whose management you disagree with has been lost.
Without that right nothing else matters.
The man with the mandate will soon tell you that osama has been recruiting amongst white-american citizens. He will ask you to do your duty for your country and spy on your neighbor and family. Did your nephew come back from a holiday in France? Who did he talk to when he was there? Isn't his girlfriend black? Wait my neighbor doesn't have TV what does he do in his spare time, is he making bombs in his garage?
I'm sorry, it's time to say goodbye to the american dream, you will never be rich, you will never be famous, you will never be free.
The monkey-boy has wiped his ass with the constitution and thrown it back in your face. Are you just gonna take it or do something about it.

58. More people are unaware of what's happening
That's just my opinion. told my own father that the recount is on for Ohio and he laughed and said, oh, stop believing everything you read... my response ?? stop beleiving everything you don't hear Dad.

It's really sad. I've got one gung-ho bro who's all for goin' it alone without any other countries...a "who needs them" attitude, all for the war, yet unwilling to go to war to fight it himself..being 35 and single, yep, just send someone else. yada yada, a mom who says, women could just start fighting again for their rights to their bodies, they've done it before, they'll do it again, when asked about abortion rights.... and well, a father who... as I stated above, doesn't pay attention, and then hears nothing and so says it isn't so.

I'm a 42 yr old woman, married with two kids and they won't possibly even look at the print outs I've given them, when they've responded to me by saying "prove it", and I have. They never even read what I gave them.

I know, there are too many ppl like this, ignorant and believe me, they laugh a lot and are "happy"...until their Soc. Sec. gets reduced, until their granddaughter has a baby at 15 and their 35 yr old son is living with them and living off of their reduced income because he lost his damn job.

I know, I will say, Love ya all, but you voted for this and I told you this would happen.

UN freakin' BELIEVABLE.

44. If there is ever a time for an honest citizen who has concern for
this nation and just also happens to be in the CIA to step forward to divulge anything that could take the wheels off of this juggernaut, now is the time.

64. Remember the last time the CIA was purged?
Something like 1/3 of the CIA was fired by Carter after the Church Committee report was released. Those folks marched over to the RNC and offered their services.

Wonder if the same will happen in reverse this time.
