Rep. Foley Reportedly to Drop Senate Bid
Maybe something is about to break out of Foley's closet? Or maybe he's just too busy checking out nudist camps.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Rep. Mark Foley intends to drop out of the race for the Republican Senate nomination from Florida for family reasons and will instead seek re-election to the House, party sources said Thursday night.

These sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the lawmaker was expected to announce his plans within a day or two.

Foley's spokesman could not be reached for comment.

Foley, first elected to Congress in 1994, has had his sights set for months on the seat held by Democratic presidential hopeful Bob Graham, who has not said whether he will seek a new term in Congress.

1. the last paragraph
A humorous take. Maybe the 2004 elections would have to be fitted so Foley would be swept in over Graham in an unbelievable upset that would highlight how the state is stolen for Bush, so they need someone really bad to help Graham win.

haha

2. Good
It would be unfortunate if stuff about his sexual past had to be revealed.

3. As a gay man, I don't think so
He has come out and says he is not a homosexual. So if he is, he's a liar just like the rest of the Republicans.

4. After what Republicans did to Bill Clinton?
Lie any lie about what Bill CLinton did?

Turn the Tables and put the Screws on Foley!

5. I would disagree with that
It would be so wrong for the Democratic party to resort to gay bashing in that manner. It is wrong for Republicans to do it, and it is also wrong for Democrats to do it. It was wrong for Max Baucus to deride his opponent and bash him for being gay, and it would be wrong to do it to Foley. His sexual orientation is his own business. Sometimes the suggestions I hear on here make me SICK!

6. It won't be the Dems who bring up his sexuality...
...the repukes will do a good, hypocritical job of keeping it under cover, but if Foley had run, there would have been quite a few Repukes "called by God" to go public with Foley's little secrets. They have to tell the truth and save the country, don't you know.
