Major Troop Increase in Iraq Not Needed, bush Says

~snip~

"The commanders on the ground will have that which they need, and they have yet to say 'we need a substantial number of (additional) troops'," Bush said when asked by a reporter whether he was open to a big increase in the number troops.

"If the commanders were to bring forth a request, I would look at it -- I would listen to it very seriously and implement the request. They have yet to do so," he added.

Bush also said he had spoken earlier to General George Casey, the U.S. commander in Iraq, and got an upbeat report about the operation in Falluja.

"He said that things are going well in Falluja and they're making very good progress in securing that country," Bush said.

1. "they're making very good progress in securing that country" LOFL!
There were attacks all over Iraq today and Allawi's family had three members kidnapped.

But all is rosey in Boosh's world.

5. We can use pinpoint bombing to wipe out all the...
Iraqis. If I were there I would set up under an oil pipeline. That'll probably be the only safe real estate in the entire country.

17. This is an odd phrasing
"If the commanders were to bring forth a request, I would look at it -- I would listen to it very seriously and implement the request. They have yet to do so," he added.

He says he would listen, then do as he is told. So, the claim will be that the call for a draft is beyond his control - he had to implement the generals' request.
