CBS describing Bush's statements as false
CBS 11:00 News preview: "There were statements about Iraq that proved false."

Waiting for the full story. Preempted here for the baseball game.

4. The news caster called it "phony intel."
Described the situation as the WH hoping Tenet would take the pressure off and take the fall.

Made reference to the statement about the Niger claims being highly dubious. Said the WH insisted if the report was pawned off on the Brits it could be considered "technically accurate." Intel then OK'd it.

Tenet also claims he never saw the final report, his staff cleared it.

Sounds like a lot of finger pointing all around. I'm impressed with CBS. This is big stuff.

5. Thanks for the report.
I'm watching Nightline, and they are discussing the 29 year old twins from Iran who died during surgery. Absolutely no mention of Tenet and uranium lies.

10. It was buried three deep
Behind a couple that got shot and another guy holding his girlfriend hostage for the third time :wtf: At least they got to it though, and before the first commercial :) Credit to CBS. First time I've watched any network news in years and I'm impressed. The fact that it's getting any coverage at all, and decent coverage at that, means maybe things are starting to turn for the better.

6. CBS is really on top of things
You certainly won't hear any of this on NBC. Isn't it a bit strange for something the CIA director didn't even look at to be used in the SOTU address.....especially when it's a basis for a pre-emptive attack! Why can't the right person tke repsonsibility for this fiasco?

7. Anyone catch the BBC World News tonight?
The statement about it being OK if they pawned it off on the Brits is major. Wondering what the Brits have to say about this.

9. Jay, great heads up!!!..........(Yes ....welcome!!!)
Hmmmm.........Bush stabs all his friends in the back.
Blair just doesn't get it.

If he had any brains , he would fess up.
And when you speak the truth the whole world will be off your
shoulders.

This is just getting uglier every day!
