US acts against general who saw a ‘Christian’ war
(Reuters)

27 October 2004

WASHINGTON - The US Army has taken action against Lt. Gen. William Boykin, who embarrassed the Bush administration by giving speeches in which he described the war on terrorism as a Christian battle against Satan.

Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Richard Cody declined to give any details of the action taken in response to Boykin’s remarks, which violated Pentagon rules, but said it was not ”significant”.

“I took the appropriate action based on the recommendations of the Inspector General,” Cody told Reuters while attending the annual meeting of the Association of the US Army.

He did not say when the action was taken.

1. They've ordered him to take down his picture of Jesus in combat fatigues.
But they let him keep the "Jesus Kills For Oil" tattoo on his left buttocks.

He did not say when the action was taken.

"If it was something significant, it would be something we would talk about. So that should give you an indication," Cody said.

6. Boykin has a lousy record
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has praised Boykin’s ”outstanding record” and refused to reprimand the general, who played a role in a 1993 battle with Somali warlords and the ill-fated hostage rescue attempt in Iran in 1980.

8. I heard that Jesus is going to appear in the sky
and take all the Right Wing Christians straight to heaven and let everyone else burn in hell.
That's why they love Israel-
-They want to fulfill some half cocked interpretation in the bible of the "apocalyse" and it has to happen in Israel (saw a story on this recently on 60 minutes)
Islamic Fundamentalis
Christian Fundamentalism
All Fundamentalism is a mental "ism"

about Alan Keyes:

He puts the mental in fundamentalism.

11. He's more than embarrassing. He's loony.
It's hard to believe he could hold down a job anywhere else without drawing attention to himself. My gosh.

They have to reach for extravagant explanations to justify illegal, inappropriate, immoral invasions of other countries. Loons like Boykin help keep the lunatic fringe back home happy as clams, envisioning some great Gawd who is somehow powerless feeling so thankful there are killers/saviors to do insane things to protect American war profiteers.

Boykin

A better place for a man of Boykin's greatness.

12. * and Boykin both need corrective action

Although he initially described the war against terrorism as a "crusade," President Bush has since worked to shore up relations with Muslim states and avoid the appearance of a Christian-Muslim struggle.

Bush regrets using the word 'crusade' in war on terror

Tue Oct 26, 1:53 PM ET Politics - AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) expressed regret over using the word "crusade" to describe the "war on terror" he launched after the September 11 attacks by Al-Qaeda.

"I said it once and probably shouldn't have used that word," Bush said in an interview with ABC television aired Tuesday.

Shortly after the 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Pennsylvania and outside Washington, Bush had said: "This crusade, this war on terrorism, is going to take awhile."

The president's use of the word "crusade" sparked a visceral reaction around the world, as it recalls the fierce, bloody battles between Christians and Muslims in the Middle Ages.

13. * and Boykin both need corrective action?
They really need a "rubber room," anti-psychotic medication and 24 hour nursing care.
