1. That's not enough
He killed a man with his usual recklessness. He needs to be persecuted for days on every network and charged with 1st degree manslaughter.

He's got it coming.

7. Fry the bastard!
Because you know that's what the Pukes would be doing if this had been a Democrat.

BTW, what's the statute of limitations on vehicular homicide? Is Pickles out of the woods?

8. Here's a link on the charges & a link to his "history of speeding."

<snip>
FLANDREAU, S.D. - U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow was charged Friday with second-degree manslaughter in the death of a motorcyclist earlier this month.

Janklow was driving an estimated 70 to 75 mph when his Cadillac went through a stop sign at a rural intersection, according to a Highway Patrol accident report.

<snip>
PIERRE, S.D. - In 30 years as a prosecutor, governor and now congressman from South Dakota, Bill Janklow has always been in a hurry to get somewhere and do something.

When he was directing the effort to fight a Black Hills forest fire last year, he scared passengers in his sport utility vehicle by speeding down a mountain highway through dense smoke. He complained because the vehicle's computer limited his speed to 99 mph.

Records show he got a dozen speeding tickets in a five-year period in the early 1990s, a time when he held no public office.

10. just like other repukes
who have killed people while driving (including Vehicular Homicide Laura), they will walk.

Here in Pennsylvania, a repug state senator (Thomas Druce) drove (a taxpayer-paid-for car) drunk, killed a pedestrian, tried to cover it up by defrauding the insurance company, claimed he thought he hit a road sign, and still has not spent a day in jail. He is appealing his conviction of some minor charge and has been home (and working as a consultant to his repuke cronies) for over a year.

And all they can argue with is Ted Kennedy and Chapaquidick (sp.).

They really are disgusting people.

24. Chappaquiddick set an unfortunate precedent
To be fair, TK's slap on the wrist is still very much a sore spot for us since he still holds office. I feel bad saying this since he's a fellow democrat, but after studying the details of that event I'm convinced that justice was never properly served.

28. Kennedy has at least gotten
thirty years of grief in the press out of Chappaquiddick. The point remains that Repugs get free passes in the press. Scarborough, Janklow, etc. Hell, Tom Eagleton was pulled out of contention for VP with McGovern because of a DUI and a Dx of depression.

could win a special election if this idiot loses his House seat? Looks like it was competitive in 2002 53 -47%.

16. The sad thing is...

... having "served" in the House, Janklow is entitled to fat retirement benefits/healthcare which we will be paying for.

... there is a good chance that Stephanie Herseth would win the special election if and when it came to that. The spooky part is that the GOP here will no doubt try to run John Thune, closely associated with Club for Growth PAC, which is running anti-Daschle hate ads on South Dakota television stations.

17. Thune won't run for the House...
IMHO he's far more interested in the Senate seat.

We have a very good chance at the House open (special election) seat. I'd rate it a TOSS-UP at this time until I know who the candidates are.

22. Does he get the retirement?
He's just a freshman Congressman. I was under the impression, perhaps mistaken, that one had to serve a certain number of years to get that benefit. (Now I'll go try to find it.)

19. Star Tribune makes no mention of University strike
Teamsters may begin striking at University as early as tonight not that this creep isn't news but our fair and balanced media has chosen to ignore over 3200 employees AFSCME and teamsters who represent the little people janitors clerics and food service who are striking over deep cuts and wage freezes while the fat rats in the cheese factory enjoy the great Minnesota state fair- well school starts tuesday get ready.
In solidarity (If you wish to help call Star Tribune- Minneapolis and complain)

Scumbags should be hanging this dick up by his thumbs. They hassled Clinton more when his dog Buddy got killed while he was out of the country, and blamed HIM.
