Rice defends Bush statements criticizing France (even more pathetic)
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 01:09 PM by JoFerret
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=1521&ncid=703&e=7&u=/afp/20041003/pl_afp/us_vote_bush_france

...

"There's no ridicule here. It's a statement of fact. The French didn't agree," Rice told CNN television.

...
On the campaign trail Friday, Bush appeared to try to capitalize on anti-French sentiments in the United States, suggesting that opponent John Kerry (news - web sites) would give France a veto over US policy.

...
Bush's campaign often stresses that Kerry speaks French and has family ties to France, and that the Massachusetts senator often refers to France when he talks about how the US has lost respect in the world since Bush became president in 2001.

1. What a flip flopper
I thought we shouldn't criticize our allies in the war on terrorism.

12. Only Kerry shouldn't - Bush can lie and break laws and do anything else
He doesn't have to do as he says as long as Republicans control the media.

13. No, no, no... we cannot criticize our allies in the war against Iraq ! ! !

It's perfectly OK to criticize our allies against global terrorism, 'cause that's a lower priority than Iraq.

14. Exactly!!
I was frustrated that Kerry didn't nail Bush in the debate on the fact that it turns out that the Iraq sanctions and inspections *DID* work (as evidenced by the absence of WMDs), and that the rest of the world was *RIGHT* -- that Hussain posed no imminent risk.

6. If Chimp is so anti-France, why the $#%k did he marry a poodle?
I absolutely hate these people. They have created this comfy chair between two contradictory positions and the media just flatly refuse to pin them down about it.

We're working with our irrelevant allies in a global war on terror.
We have taken steps to insult the UN in an effort to solicit their help in Iraq.
We are raising the terror alert to demonstrate our assertions that you are safer with us in office.

Argh! Bastards, all of them.

7. Condi bits lip with Wolf Boy

It was so telling that the moment that Wolf asked her the first question, she bit her lip.

When you bit your lip you are getting ready to LIE.
And she did!

She tried to dodge the interview and started talking about France.

Clue that they are going to now blame Paris for all their stuff!

I love Paris in the winter, spring, summer and fall.
Most Americans do IMO.

She is a sinking fool!

See you at the Hague Condi! Hope you have to make a stop over in P A R I S!

8. It's easy to make France the lightning rod
for the fears and hatreds engendered by the war in Iraq. As for the French themselves, they are amused, astonished, even flattered, at the notion that they could ever have a deciding role in U.S. policy.

10. Bush to Chirac: Will you forgive Iraq's debt, you wussy?
Please, you lilly-livered, spineless piece of French crap? We really need you to forgive Iraq's debt, Mr. Girlie-man. Oh, and will you pass the freedom fries?

11. Why didn't Bush take it to a final UN Security Council vote
as he promised the American people on live television that he would? Could it be that he knew he would have suffered an enormous loss of face by the fact that the vast majority of the UN Security Council was against him? Not only was it France that didn't agree, but most of the world didn't agree. Even our immediate neighbors in the Northern Hemisphere, Canada and Mexico were opposed to the Iraq war. If Bush had heeded the warnings of French intelligence about Moussaoui before 911, we might have been able to avoid much of the debacle in which the Bush Administration has engulfed us.
