Kerry Says Bush In "Make-Believe World" Misleading American People

By Nedra Pickler, Associated Press
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.

President Bush is living in a make-believe world in his understanding of Iraq, misleading the American people and attacking Democrats on phony issues... John Kerry said... "Even today, he blundered again saying there are only a handful of terrorists in Iraq,"... "George Bush retreated from Fallujah and other communities in Iraq which are now overrun with terrorists and threaten our troops."

Kerry said that in criticizing his statements on Iraq, Bush was "living in a make-believe world," unwilling to tell the truth or to understand the situation in Iraq.

The Democrat said he had laid out "steps to win the war, not to change, not to retreat, steps to win. George Bush is trying to fight a phantom here because he won't tell the American people the truth, so he sets up something that's not a real issue and attacks it."

Bush "missed a huge opportunity" at the United Nations this week to try to persuade other nations' leaders to join the United States in Iraq and the broader anti-terror war, Kerry said... I don't think he's providing the leadership we need," ... "I will do a better job of dealing with Iraq and winning the war and fighting the war on terror, period."

snip

.... Responding to Cheney's criticism of Kerry, Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards said in a statement that Bush and Cheney "are the last two people we need a lecture from about how to keep the American people safe."

Great answer! These guys need to keep pouring it on. Even the RW media can't hide what is going on in Iraq. People are sitting up and taking notice.

2. And they just keep whipping ass everyday. So this is what they meant
by John Kerry being a great closer.

Theresa Heinz Kerry said that her husband was at his most dangerous when backed into a corner. She wasn't joking.

Which is most of him, including his head. Let's hope JE doesn't get any pacemaker parts lodged in his throat.

21. I think..
..I'm looking forward to the VP debate even more than seeing monkeyboy stumble over the english language at his one. Edwards and, sadly to a lesser extent, Kerry have the brains and ammunition to make mincemeat out of them both.

13. JK is building the case against GWB slowly but surely.
Every day he ratchets up the rhetoric, raises the level of the charges against the chimp-in-chief. He's just about got the little bastard cornered. The rest of the campaign should be fun--if we can find away to deal with the Swift Liars.

You mean the "vote for me or you'll die," doesn't cut it? You mean
Bush has to actually stand on his record..or none record...and that mean tall calm rational John Kerry guy is making Bush accountable? How DARE they!LOL

The debates are going to clinch the deal for undecided voters. I'm counting down the days.

Bullseye, John. Kudos to your strategists and speechwriters. This is the only hope -- that half the country will finally awaken from the mass denial.
