Former POW Jessica Lynch discharged from Army
http://www.ajc.com/news/content/news/0803/27lynch.html

The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Former POW Jessica Lynch, the petite blonde who became a war hero when special forces rescued her from an Iraqi hospital, has been honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, her lawyer said Wednesday.

"As of the now, she is not a member of the military anymore," her lawyer, Stephen Goodwin of Charleston, said Wednesday.

Lynch, 20, of Palestine suffered multiple broken bones and other injuries when her 507th Maintenance Company was ambushed in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah on March 23.

Her rescue on April 1 from an Iraqi hospital by special forces quickly made an American hero out of the petite blonde, who joined the Army to get an education and become a kindergarten teacher.

1. How's her recovery coming? And who's paying the bills?
I don't know how the system works, but now that she's out of the service, is she responsible for the medical bills? Poor thing, she may have to do the talk show/made for TV movie/book deal circuit after all.

5. She Is Eligible For VA Benefits
Since she was honorbly discharged and she sustained her injuries on active duty, she is eligible for VA benefits. She should be able to file for VA disability benefits also, with the extent of her injuries
she could get between 50-75 percent disability.

And her attorney is incorrect, unless the Army waived her, the mandatory military service is 8 years. And if she is going to be
married, her fiance is still in the US Army. So even if the military
can't do anything to keep her from talking about her experience, they
can still have an affect on her future husband's career.

11. She could always be used in a support position.
Lots of former military are being FedExed orders to fulfill their 8 year commitments with year tours to Iraq.

12. Not Likely
Taking into consideration the wounds that she suffered, it's not likely. Add to that the fact that there are no facilities for physical
therapy in the region. And facilities for serious medical problems can probably only be found in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.

9. The taxpayers will foot the bill.....
I imagine her medical condition will warrant continued medical examinations and treatment including physical therapy. As a former POW and veteran, she is entitled to care based on her injuries & percentage of permanent disability (if any). She did indicate she wanted to be a kindergarden teacher. She should be able to also attend college to this end using her earned benefits.

14. SHE'LL GET SUPERSTAR TREATMENT FROM THE VA
No greasy non-English speaking H-1 Visa Doctor for her.

She'll have one who speaks English and as a bonus she'll only have to wait two hours to see him unlike the customary 4 or 5

LOL

The Beckley VA Medical Center is located in West Virginia, it provides services for veterans in 12 counties. They have inpatient and
outpatient orthopedics, and rehab for spinal cord injuries.

There is also the folowing VA Medical Centers in WV

Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg,WV

Martinsburg VA Medical Center, Martinsburg,WV

But according to the news story she will be receiving care from the Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg.

16. Yes The Taxpayers Will Foot The Bill
Being a former POW does not put her ahead of other Vets, she'll have
to wait for an appointment just like them. She will probably receive
disability for her injuries.

In regards to disability pay, it won't be permanent at first. A final
determination will be made upon her completion of physical therapy and
rehab.

As for college, if I remember correctly some organization said that they would provide her with a scholarship to attend college.

15. No she Can't!
"Who are YOU?"
"George HW Bush, but you can call me 'Poppy'...I'm CIA..."
"What do you want?"
"I want YOU to stop runnin' your mouth, missy...Y'know what I mean?"

OK, so Poppy doesn't smoke cigarettes, but I'd bet he's just as smarmy....

3. Petite blond?
This is one of my pet peeves with journalists. If the subject of an article is a woman, why does the author of the article have to describe her appearance. Does it really matter if she is a blonde? Would this author describe a male soldier the same way?

4. Is Jessica hated or is Bush hated for the lie?
was wondering...So Bush is hated, we just want her to expose him since she is a primary witness to the scam. I think this is the driving force behind the hate.

6. speaking for me, I feel sorry for her
she is like the poster child for lying leaders and the scams they pull to make their shit into perfume

and now this poor girl, who has had her full measuer of bullshit by this time, now has to deal with the divided loyalties that have were forced upon her while she was injured and imperessionable. How many freeper types would call her a traitor fer telling the truth about her ordeal? Many.

13. Military has limited nbr personnel. Lynch must go, bring in another tgt.
I'm sure most of the wounded will be quickly discharged so that Rumfilled can bring in new cannon fodder for combat.
