WP (Milbank): Bush: U.S. Faces "Hard" Task in Iraq

Result Will Be More Secure World, President Says

By Dana Milbank
Wednesday, August 27, 2003; Page A01

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 26 -- President Bush sought today to steel the country for more hardship in Iraq, cautioning that the fight will require a large and sustained commitment of American resources but that there is no alternative to complete victory.

(snip)

The reception for Bush was warm in the cavernous convention center here, although the veterans in their flat caps had mixed feelings about Bush's efforts in Iraq. Frank Glimm, a Vietnam-era veteran from North Dakota, gave Bush a "right on" after his speech and endorsed Bush's call for patience. "I'd like to see things happen a little faster," Glimm said, but "it's going to take a while."

Clemens Jacques of Missouri was less swayed. "There are times when I wish he'd listen to the words he says," the World War II veteran said, wondering if Bush's Iraq policy is adequate. "It's a darn shame we don't have enough there to suppress the terror."

(snip)

At the noon fundraiser, Bush did not speak in detail about Iraq, but said morale of the troops is high, and that he remains focused on the war against terrorism. "Until the political season starts for me, I will continue to work to earn the confidence of every American by keeping this nation secure and strong and prosperous and free," the president said.

I wonder what Frank would like to see happen faster, a little more killin', mebby a little napalm, a little more carpet bombin'"

Perhaps Franky got a little too much agent orange under that funny little hat."Right On!" good buddy.

2. nothing like a chosen
batch of useless, fatass, stupid drunks, many of whom never served in combat to give high fives to Whistle Ass..

this is absolutely disgusting and worthy of a Nazi convention..

ship these assholes to the front lines..

It is time to draw the line on Iraq. Let's start asking some straight up questions:

One) do you support this action?

Two) Have you signed up to be shipped to the front lines?

Three) Do you have your bags packed and are you ready to go?

Four) what's that brown stuff running down your leg?

I'm only saying this because I'm a Vet and these bastards are aiding and abetting the deaths of american soldiers for no good reason other than they are bullshitted beyond belief.
