Another Arkansan Dies in Iraq
SEPTEMBER 20, 2004 - Posted at 7:59 a.m. CDT

HOPE, AR - Another Arkansan has died in the Iraqi war effort. Thomas Chad Rosenbaum, 25, of Hope, was apparently on leave and in his hometown a few weeks ago before returning to duty.

His family was notified of his death but they weren't given any other details. His father, Jackie Rosenbaum, said he did not want to discuss his son's military service or other aspects of his life at this time.

An acquaintance, Waylon Lewallen, said Chad Rosenbaum was a couple of years younger than him and they both had attended Hope High School. Lewallen said he saw Chad at a gym a few weeks ago and Chad said he was heading back in 13 or 14 days. Lewallen said he told him to be careful.

A funeral director at Herndon Funeral Home said the home is handling the services. Arrangements are pending.

2. They're just babies!
The ages of these boys and girls just depress me terribly. Why can't wars be fought by the old men who start them? There oughta be a law or something.

Ironically, it will be only Dan Rather on the Evening News who will pay any attention to the fact that this "casualty" was a real person. At the end of every broadcast, there is another fallen soldier, with a picture and a short bio. The "face" of the war. AGHHHHHHHHH!
