A furious row has broken out over claims in a new book by BBC broadcaster James Naughtie that US Secretary of State Colin Powell described neo-conservatives in the Bush administration as 'fucking crazies' during the build-up to war in Iraq.

knew they were fucking crazy but shilled for them before the UN and beyond. He aided and abetted in the deaths and maimings of many because despite what HE KNEW, he did not do what good generals do: LEAD the fight against this travesty by speaking up and out. Or better still by resigning in indignation, leaving the Neocons to their madness and speaking about it as he left. What a difference that would have made.

4. It would be nice to see Powell take down the crazies

Rolling Stone's "The curse of Dick Cheney" article talks quite a bit about the problems the fucking crazies keep bringing to the administrations they get involved with. With all the enemies Cheney must be making on the inside (CIA, military, Powell in particular) it seems likes there could be a good chance of more high level guys turning on Cheney. It would almost restore dignity to Powell...nah, on second thought, Powell would still be the same asshole that covered up massacres and lied to the U.N.
