Tauzin (R) to be absent for September congressional session
WASHINGTON U-S Representative Billy Tauzin, who has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments since surgery in March to remove a cancerous tumor from his intestine, says he will not return to Congress this month as originally planned.

Tauzin's spokesman, Ken Johnson, says the radiation treatment began later than expected and is likely to keep the congressman away from the House in September. But, Johnson says Tauzin has told House leaders that he's available if his vote is critical on any pending legislation.

2. I Don't Know Mr. Tauzin...
since he's a puke I'll assume he's a jerk. However, I wish him a speedy recovery. I had a family member who underwent chemo two years ago and I know it's very hard on the patient and their family.

4. Vote skipper! Come October we'll be able to look back at this month
and see this particular repuke has missed more votes than anyone! Since he knows he will be missing these votes will he be sending his paycheck back?

Effin' repukes make me sick, that tirade above is a well-versed part of their playbook, bringing the discourse down below the gutter.

5. Reread that word "chemotherapy."
The phrase "Effin' repukes make me sick" is already in the gutter.

7. Apparently my Sarcasm was set too low again. I wish no harm to anyone,
my (perhaps misunderstood) attempt at how this would be spun if it was a dem that was sick and a repuke was commenting. Kinda like how they already have smeared Kerry for missing votes because he's CAMPAIGNING!!

Thanks for the karma check, but the repukes DO make me sick because they are quite capable of ACTUALLY doing what I only meant to infer, and I offer no apology for expressing/feeling that way.

11. Hope he gets better?
I don't. A bastard is a bastard, sick or well. Now if I thought he would have a change of heart from the possibility of imminitaly meeting his maker then that would be a different story but there's not a chance in hell that will happen.

8. I wonder if Billy
had to give the $ up front for his chemotherapy like my Aunt did when she had breast cancer? I bet the hell not! I hope he gets better but he don't and he won't ever 'Get It'
Billy Boy is a tool for the pharmaceutical companies.

Public Citizen today called for an investigation into whether U.S. Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-La.), who had a key role in writing the Medicare prescription drug law, broke House ethics rules when negotiating a lucrative job with the drug industry's top lobbying group.

Tauzin has received an offer to represent the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the drug industry's main lobbying group, which was heavily involved in the crafting of recently passed legislation to create a prescription drug benefit under Medicare.

The legislation contains key provisions beneficial to the drug industry; it subsidizes private insurers to provide prescription drug coverage to seniors - thereby increasing demand for drugs, bars the Medicare administrator from bargaining for lower drug prices and effectively prohibits the reimportation of lower-priced drugs from Canada.</snip>
