Daschle defends footage of Bush hug in campaign ad
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 07:07 PM by damkira
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Democratic Sen. Tom Daschle is defending a campaign television ad that features footage of him hugging President Bush.

During a news conference Wednesday, Daschle, who faces a challenge for his Senate seat from Republican John Thune, said the ad was designed to show the need for bipartisan leadership during times of crisis.

The hug is part of a two-second clip in a 30-second spot that also includes vignettes with congressional leaders, Daschle said.

3. Many people here don't like Daschle, and that tv
Edited on Wed Sep-01-04 07:12 PM by Eric J in MN
commercial won't make him more liked here.

HOWEVER:

The Democrats need 51 seats, and Daschle is the only incumbent Democratic Senator in a close race.

Support Daschle, not for him, but for the Democrats.

6. So he tries to capitulate to his right wing voters?
and he does this by ads that show him hugging and embracing a stupid man who has been bashing us with executive orders after executive orders?

Hey that is really smart politics .

And if he does get elected, what then is he going to do for his right wing suporters? If he gets elected by appealing to these voters, what then will he do for them? Screw them ? Or support them?

This is another example of how Bush has been enabled and we the people have been screwed. He may be elected after all, with this tactic, but then, everything he says thereafter, we must believe is tuned into those right wingers who came forth to elect him.

Oh good.

We certainly need him as a respected Democratic leader in our Senate, knowing whose base he is serving.

Uh huh

10. Do you want Republican John Thune representing South Dakota
in the Senate for the next 18 years or however long he'll stay in if he wins?

But it sure doesn't make me think more favorably of him.
