Two Iraqis wounded after US patrol attacked

BAGHDAD, July 11 — Two Iraqis were wounded when their vehicle was caught in crossfire after a rocket-propelled grenade attack on a U.S. patrol near Baghdad airport, the U.S. military said on Friday.

The attack took place at around 10:20 p.m. (1820 GMT) on Thursday evening northeast of the airport and U.S. troops returned fire, a military spokesman said.

''A civilian vehicle was caught in crossfire. One Iraqi was shot in the neck and one Iraqi was shot in the abdomen,'' he said. The Iraqis were taken to a military medical facility. He had no word on their condition.
