4 U.S. Marines Killed in Iraq Incidents (RATE IT! It's been freeped)
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=716&e=1&u=/ap/20040822/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

NAJAF, Iraq - Four U.S. Marines assigned to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force have been killed in separate incidents in Iraq (news - web sites)'s volatile Anbar province, the military announced Sunday.

Man, it's so disgusting to me that GOPers would rate DOWN a story about their very own dead countrymen!

Makes me absolutely sick.

4. I don't trust that rating
I emailed a bunch of friends just now, and we all voted 5 and didn't change at all.

14. You may be right
Kind of strange that with all these DU'ers hitting it, it hasn't at least moved maybe a tenth of a point in either direction? Weird.

2. Done! I got this off of bartcop.com
" Bush's American soldier body count in Iraq

944, 950, 953, 955, 962 dead American soldiers.
Damn, they got seven more this weekend?

Forgive me for counting Bush's victims.

I hear that oxyrush is saying the Liberals can't wait for the # 1000 Soldiers died. But rush misses the point, as usual..We wanted NO Soldiers dead in bush's folly and we're not sweeping the numbers, ergo the Soldiers under the Persian Rug. We want Americans to know how much Blood this is costing us. Not to mention the treasure!

10. Let's be honest about the numbers, OK? . . .
Even Bartcop gets this wrong (or, permits Bush-blinders to fog his vision):

The death toll in Iraq stands at 1094+. . . and counting. . .

If Bush is going to tout the involvement of the "Coalition" countries, he has to take responsibility for their troops deaths, too.

icasualties.org counts 963 dead Americans, 65 dead from the UK, and 66 dead from the rest of the Coalition.

3. Ever read the remarks to the articles on that board? Those arguments
get right down dirty and nasty.

That's what bush* has done to this country. Turned Americans against each other to a degree that has never been seen in this country before. But when you read the posts on that board, you'll notice that when a pro-bush* poster gets pinned to the wall because his argument won't hold water, they start hissing and spitting like cornered snakes and the final argument is always a vile, obscene screed against anyone who tries to use reason and facts. So there should be no surprise that they freep important stories like that. Honesty is not a strong suit amongst bush* supporters.

8. They also tend to preface
with something like "I'll probably be flamed/attacked for saying this,", then go on with some ridiculous remark and whine, "see I'm being attacked", when someone responds to their post.

15. We haven't been this divided since the Civil War
> That's what bush* has done to this country. Turned Americans against

We were more divided once before. That led to the Civil War.
I really hope it doesn't come to that this time.

Looking at the electoral map and and the issues that
divide us, there are some very disturbing similarities.

There are some significant differences as well. Our divisions are
not as geographical at this time. There are "red" states and "blue"
states, and most of the "red" states are in the South. But not all.
And even the reddest states have over 40% Kerry supporters, and the
converse is true for blue states.

9. What a shame
Why would they rate this story low? So news about the deaths of fellow Americans cannot get out? That is shameful!

13. And one makes 5...
When I read the article (marked as updated 5 minutes ago), it talked about 5 dead, including one near Mosul.
