U.S. could go to WTO over Airbus subsidies -Bush
SEATTLE (Reuters)

President George W. Bush complained about European subsidies for Airbus on Friday and threatened to take a case to the World Trade Organization if they were not ended.

In an election-year move at a time when he is under pressure over slow U.S. job growth, Bush said he had told the U.S. trade representative, Robert Zoellick, that he should do everything possible to end European subsidies for Airbus. ..

Airbus says the firm receives loans, not subsidies, and they are within the limits of a 1992 U.S.-European agreement to gradually reduce state aid. ..

1. It's not the loans. The world is boycotting the US.

Remember the steel subsidies! The US ignored WTO rulings. All three of the major Airbus buyers this year are locked out of contracts in Iraq.

The problem is right here at home on Pennsylvania Avenue.
