US Seeks Faster Peace Agreement in Sudan

The US is concerned at the slow pace the Sudan peace process is taking and wants it accelerated.

Visiting Senate majority leader Dr Bill Frist said although the there had been significant progress in search for peace in the vast African country, much more needed to be done.

"There has been progress in the peace process. But I get the impression things are moving too slowly than anyone of us would wants," Frist said at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.

He said the US would continue to encourage the warring factions in the protracted war pitting the Muslim and largely Arabic North against the largely Christian and animist South.
