Seeing two trends colliding, a smart businessman could have noted the growing popularity of poker and the rising interest in national politics and recognized the cash potential, but luck has its part in cards, politics and business.

"I'd like to say I devised this thing, but that would be a flat-out lie," said David Krikorian, a Cincinnati business owner who recently began selling playing cards adorned with prominent Republicans or Democrats, depending on the deck purchased. ..

Not surprisingly, Kerry decks have surged in recent weeks, specifically due to sales at the Democrats' recent nominating convention in Boston.
