KUWAIT CITY: The Kuwaiti transport company KGL which has seven truckers held hostage in Iraq is negotiating with their captors about paying a ransom to win their release, a source close to the firm said Thursday.
Kuwait Gulf and Link (KGL) transport company is willing to pay a ransom to buy freedom for the three Indians, three Kenyans and Egyptian, who were snatched on July 21 by a group calling itself "Islamic Secret Army - Holders of the Black Banners," the source told AFP, requesting anonymity.
"The argument is over how much," the source added.
He would not say how much the kidnappers were demanding or what the firm was willing to pay. But he said the ransom being talked about through unspecified channels was in "the millions of dollars."
