Most of the al Qaeda surveillance of five financial institutions that led to a new terrorism alert Sunday was conducted before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and authorities are not sure whether the casing of the buildings has continued since then, numerous intelligence and law enforcement officials said yesterday.

More than half a dozen government officials interviewed yesterday, who declined to be identified because classified information is involved, said that most, if not all, of the information about the buildings seized by authorities in a raid in Pakistan last week was about three years old, and possibly older.

"There is nothing right now that we're hearing that is new," said one senior law enforcement official who was briefed on the alert. "Why did we go to this level? . . . I still don't know that."

If they plan to win the election on orange and red alerts they better hurry up and blow up something.

Unfortunately, Al Quaeda, or one of its immitators, could actually do something horrendous again, and not one would pay attention to the warnings.

Um, sir/madam, I can answer that for you. It's because * and the true 'evildoers' are afraid they are going to lose the election. They have to use distractions to get us to pay attention to THEM instead of Kerry/Edwards (and/or any truths that somehow end up in the news in spite of them trying to control all the 'truth' out there).

I feel sorry for the people who live in these 'threatened' areas. If they haven't caught on to the * plan to scare the vote out of us, they must be living on pins and needles. Especially the people in NYC. I wish they could sue */gang for terrorizing them with lies.

The same thing happened when Kerry announced Edwards as his running mate. If a real terror alert were to take place no one could tell if it was real or not.

Hillary Clinton said that her state was really being taxed from all these terra alerts and that there would be a need for more fed funding, as the state funds are running out.
Oh yeah... she said this in a speech to the Dems at the convention which was a WEEK ago?
Is this backlash at NW NJ and DC?
