1. God.
Excerpt:

At least 13 people have died after a car bomb exploded today outside a police station in the town of Baquba, just north of Baghdad.

Hospital officials said as many as 80 people may have been wounded in the blast, which went off almost directly outside the police station at mid-morning, when the streets would have been crowded.

Baquba, a mixed Sunni and Shi'ite town which is home to many former members of the Iraqi army, has experienced frequent car-bombings and attacks over the past year.

Many of those have targeted Iraqi police and National Guard, who guerrillas regard as collaborators with US and foreign troops stationed in Iraq.

Iraqi suicide bomber kills 68 in Baquba

By Joe Chrysdale
UNITED PRESS INTERNATIONAL

Baquba, Iraq, Jul. 28 (UPI) -- A massive car bomb tore through a crowd of Iraqis trying to enlist in the Baqouba police force Wednesday, killing at least 68, CNN reported.

Police said the bomber drove a Toyota mini-bus into a marketplace near a police station as would-be recruits lined up outside and detonated the explosives.

Among those killed were 21 passengers on a passing bus.

Witnesses in the city, 37 miles northeast of Baghdad, said bodies charred beyond recognition were mixed with twisted metal of the booby trapped car and other vehicles parked nearby.

P.s one foot in the water, one foot out, they are playing both sides just like it's always been for the last 25 or 30 years.

11. Completely different stories from Yahoo and IOL. Purposely misleading!
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 11:56 PM by dArKeR
The Yahoo/AP story tells the reader this was market. IOL says this was a line of men waiting to join Bush's puppet police force. The omission is inexcusable!

----------------

hundreds of young men stood earlier on Wednesday waiting to join the new Iraqi police force.

He came to Baquba on Wednesday morning from the town of Muqdadidiya further north after his cousin told him that his name was on a list of 600 potential candidates for the local police force.

-------------

A suicide car bomb tore through a downtown street Wednesday, killing 68 Iraqis and turning a bustling area of shops and fruit stalls into charred corpses

----------------------------

This is purposely false/misleading reporting and not lying.

I gave up reading after about 10 paragraphs when Awad changed the subject and started talking about completely different events. About 30 paragraphs down he returns to this subject and does write:

"The attack in Baqouba targeted a police station, and many of the dead and wounded were among the hundreds of Iraqis gathered outside hoping to join the force, police said. The blast also ripped through a passing bus, killing 21."
