Discovering WMD (David Kay Alert)
http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/rn20030809.shtml

WASHINGTON -- Former international weapons inspector David Kay, now seeking Iraqi weapons of mass destruction for the Pentagon, has privately reported successes that are planned to be revealed to the public in mid-September.

Kay has told his superiors he has found substantial evidence of biological weapons in Iraq, plus considerable missile development. He has been less successful in locating chemical weapons, and has not yet begun a substantial effort to locate progress toward nuclear arms.

1. Yeah yeah yeah.
The UN, the British and American militaries, they couldn't do it, but here comes David Kay, with a great big K on his chest, and he finds them in no time at all. This is so foolish that no one should even bother reporting it. It's just going to be another Powell-style media circus. It will fool the public (who desperately want to be fooled), but anyone with a triple-digit IQ will know it's a sham.

Remember, this is the administration that was going to bring honesty and straight shooting to the White House!

2. "revealed to the public in mid-September"??
oh right, on the anniversary of 9/11 no doubt. As with everything BushCo does, "revelations" have to happen, and with a grand well-timed photo-op flourish.

11. I think it was Andy Card
I could be wrong. In any case, it was one of 'em! And it shows all too well their true agenda.

Remember, Boy George will be back from vacation in September. He'll need the news to raise his poll numbers.

And another thing, don't you think if they found this stuff it'd be REALLY big news as soon as it happened?

3. Kay catches a cold and calls it a biological weapon
The only evidence Kay seems to have come up with is a warehouse full of pieces of paper in a language he can't even make out. Kay was also sure the those trailers for inflating balloons were mobile weapons labs. No one will believe anything from Kay. He's a paid propagandist.

4. Kay. Heh.
Edited on Sun Aug-10-03 09:26 AM by MrJones
He's not doing his credibility any favors with things like this, from CNN, about the "mobile weapons labs":

Kay said he was aware of a number of theories that the vehicles might have had other uses, "none of which make any logical sense."

Kay saw one of the vehicles on a recent trip to Iraq and received reports on the second.

Kay said most of the alternative uses that have been suggested "didn't pass the laugh test."

"The silliest one," Kay said, was the suggestion that they had been designed to generate hydrogen for meteorological balloons.

Engineering experts from the DIA, of course, have now said that's exactly what they were for.

5. David Kay is the wrong man for the job
He made his mind up long ago that the weapons are there, he's just looking for the right "moment".

6. The evidence will relate to late 1980's and early 1990's WMD.
The reason for waiting to reveal the evidence is that a massive amount of documentation will be released which will require hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to review. The press will report the release of the evidence around the clock as huge breaking news. Weeks later stories revealing how the evidence was all Bushshit will begin to dribble out and will be buried. Tens of millions of people will hear about the evidence of WMD. Thousands of people will hear that the evidence was false. The truth rarely catches up with a lie. SOP for Bush and Turd Blossom Rove.

It worked once with Powell's UN speech, so they have the pattern down.

9. Kay wouldn't know what evidence was
...he has no expertise whatsoever. Anyone "expert" who may feel obliged to contradict him has the example of David Kelly to think about.

One expert said months ago, it should have taken three days to find WMD after the principals responsible were taken into custody. If they didn't get that information, which they could have paid 25 million for, within 72 hours, it means they don't have any.

10. Right after Clark announces run for President
Edited on Sun Aug-10-03 09:50 AM by Unknown Known
That's why they're waiting until Sept. and it will all be phony but mediawhores will push the agenda and lies of the cabal.

They will have to do something spectacular when/if Clark gets in the race - mark my words!

I'm sure the announcement will even come ON THE DAY Clark announces and a Rummy/Myers news conference will pre-empt Clark.

15. planted evidence
david kay has no credibility -- and he needs to constantly ripped to shreds.
he has made it clear from the get-go that he is out to support the p-nac agenda -- whatever it takes. he is nothing more than a loyal dog.
bring his credibility down and the evidence will shrivel.

16. Not a Scientist

Here is an interesting article. Why is this man considered such an expert when he has no scientific background?

23. murky credentials
According to his primary employer, the The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, where he is a Senior Fellow -
"Dr. Kay holds a BA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's in International Affairs and Ph.D. degrees from Columbia University."

frankly, when looking at some of the other resume's posted on the website, Kay's is not very detailed. Here is a sample

"Dr. Fred E. Saalfeld received his B.S. degree cum laude with majors in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University in 1957. Dr. Saalfeld was awarded his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with a major in Physical Chemistry and minors in Inorganic Chemistry and Mathematics from Iowa State University in 1959 and 1961, and remained one year at Iowa State as an Instructor."

note that the fields the degrees were in was clearly mentioned. We have no idea what Kay's BA was in nor do we have any idea what his Ph.D. was in. We do know that his M.A. is in International Affairs. The man is clearly a manager not a scientist.

17. Also note..
.. that any 'evidence' they discover will not prove at this point that Iraq had posed an "immediate threat."

Ask Scott Ritter about David Kay. And this is Bob Novak??

I think this story also confirms that there was no imminent threat to the security of the United States, and George W. Bush is a LIAR!!!

24. Once again it says he has not found the weapons
He has found historical proof that they did exist. Major revelation on this one. Nobody would have ever know that Rumsfeld had sold them to Iraq in the 80's unless this man was on the job. Unless he comes up with something more than the weather baloon trucks from earlier this year it is a bunch of bull.
