http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040522/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_soldier&cid=540&ncid=1473

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier was killed and three others were wounded in an attack south of Baghdad, the military said Saturday. A Marine died in a non-hostile incident.

The military said the soldiers' vehicle was "ambushed by a vehicle-born improvised explosive device" in Mahmoudiyah, 20 miles south of Baghdad. The statement did not say when the attack occurred.

Two of the injured soldiers were evacuated to a combat hospital. The third wounded soldier returned to duty after treatment.

All the casualties were from the U.S. Army's 1st Armored Division.

And it should be "vehicle-borne" and not vehicle-born (I have not seen bombs being born from vehicles... at least not so far.)

4. Thanks for the article. Very sad, isn't it?
You have to wonder about the other guy, the Marine who was killed in a "non-hostile" action.

We can't just accept these things as if the soldiers WANTED to waste their lives. What a shame.

Bush has not been able to maintain security in Iraq. He needed more troops, but what does Shinseki know?
