Halliburton shareholders meeting a spectacle

Halliburton's 37-minute shareholder meeting today attracted more than 300 protesters including a jazz combo, women dressed all in pink and a 25-foot inflatable pig.

In sharp contrast to the street spectacle, the shareholder meeting was a quiet affair.

In just 27 minutes, shareholders listened to Lesar's report on the company's financial state, elected 11 directors and rejected proposals to split the jobs of the chairman and CEO between two people, to change the election process for directors and to create an oversight committee to review Halliburton's operations in Iran.
