Bush Urges G8 Leave Behind Past Iraq Differences
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush told foreign ministers from seven key allies on Friday it was time to put past differences over Iraq behind them and work together for the country's future.

Bush, who engaged in a bitter debate with allies like France and Germany over whether to go to war against Iraq over alleged weapons of mass destruction, is seeking allied help as the U.S-led coalition in Baghdad plans to transfer sovereignty to an interim Iraqi government on June 30.

Bush met at the White House with foreign ministers from the Group of Seven major industrial nations plus Russia. The seven are the United States, Britain, Italy, Canada, France, Germany and Japan.

"He talked about putting aside past differences and all of us working together to help the Iraqi people realize a brighter future," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.

"It is in all of our interests to make sure there is a free and peaceful Iraq," he said.

Or what country had delusions of grandeur, but that doesn't get us any closer to our common goal, which is more money for me and the Carlyle Group. So come on, all you Yurpeans! Get with my program.

Say, did I tell you all what John Kerry did in 1987? No? Well, it's so very important to what's going on today! See, in 1987, he--

Golly, but I'd like to see a few reenactments of the Abu Ghraib "hazing" with Lil George as the subject.

French FM blasts Iraqi occupation

France's foreign minister has strongly criticised the occupation of Iraq, describing the country as a black hole which was sucking in the world. ...

Mr Barnier also ruled out sending French troops to Iraq in the future. He said France could be useful to Iraq in other ways.

Mr Barnier has been holding ongoing discussions with other UN Security Council members in New York about a possible resolution on Iraq to be passed before the June deadline.

'Spiral of horror'

He is travelling to Washington on Friday to join other G8 foreign ministers to discuss Iraq and the Middle East.

Correspondents say his comments are unusually tough, as Paris has sought to ease tensions with Washington and avoid harsh criticism of its policy in Iraq.

The moment has come to take a strong initiative to get out of the Iraqi tragedy, this black hole which is in the process of sucking in the Middle East and the world,

If you really want to kiss and make up, how about putting aside some of the childish spiteful language you used back then and showing our former allies you aren't the petulant little asshole they all believe you are.

But as he raids the larder to maintain the military contractors overflowing cupboards, perhaps he should recall his words.

To go begging, tin cup in hand, to those that he has insulted is exceeding disgusting.
