ads released today.

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, promoting his Vietnam War experience and his political career as "a lifetime of service and strength," is launching a $25 million advertising campaign that includes a foray into Colorado starting Tuesday.

One of two new 60-second ads, "Heart," features two Vietnam veterans as well as wife Teresa Heinz Kerry and daughter Vanessa Kerry as it presents Kerry's background as a county prosecutor and U.S. senator.

The other ad, "Lifetime," focuses on the Navy service in Vietnam that won Kerry three Purple Hearts and Silver and Bronze stars.

1. With a weakened governor
and a good shot at gaining a Senate seat with Ken Salazar, Colorado might just be in play this year. We sure hope so.

3. Well, I think Kerry agrees
If he's spending any money in a state lost by Clinton twice and by Gore, I think his team views it as winnable.

9. He won it in 1992 with around 40% of the vote
Bill Clinton has Ross Perot to thank for his winning Colorado in the 1992 election. If it had been a two-man race, he'd never have beaten Bush in the state.

Kerry's going to have to receive considerably more then 40% of the vote to win Colorado.

2. Oh man, this is great news!
I'm giddy! :D Kerry is wise to not write off Colorado. It's a serious swing state.

11. Wisdom of my nine-year-old daughter
She told me she doesn't like it when the candidates say mean things about each other -- it makes her not want to vote for anybody.

Sound advice. Kerry's new ads should win her vote!

10. I'm really glad he's decided not
to ignore our state. I think Colorado is winnable if Kerry plays it right. I've talked to people here who voted Bush and are now absolutely disgusted with him.

I also think that the vast majority who voted Nader last time, will not do it again this time.
