Criminal charges mulled in BP rig blast: report

The Justice Department is said to be considering filing the first criminal charges in its probe of the Gulf oil spill case.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the charges would be brought against employees of British oil giant BP.

An explosion on the Deep Water Horizon oil rig in 2010 killed 11 workers and led to a massive oil spill - of almost five billion barrels. It was the worst offshore oil spill ever in the U.S.

They have to have a scape goat

2. The policies of greed that come from the top are to blame

but they'll pick some middle manager to take the fall. They'll also give the BP a fine that to them is just a cost of doing business and probably even a tax writeoff. Japan used to charge the principals of the company for wrongdoings, I don't know if they do anymore but that is the way it should be. The policy setters should be charged, jailed, fined and the corporate charter revoked.
