Inhofe plans to back Rick Perry for president
Source: Tulsa World

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe said Wednesday that he plans to endorse Texas Gov. Rick Perry for president.

"I called Rick Perry a year ago and told him, 'If you're running for president, I'll be the first to endorse you,'" Inhofe said at a State Chamber of Commerce breakfast at the Tulsa Press Club.

"I'm going to be that person on Monday."

Inhofe said he "likes Mitt Romney, but he's a little mushy on environmental issues" and "Newt Gingrich, I always have this vision of him sitting on the couch holding hands with Nancy Pelosi," but that he has no reservations about Perry.

This is actually pretty big, as very few members of congress have endorsed in the GOP primary.

1. Hey Inhofe, resign. You obviously lack any type of judgment.

No, I'm not. However, if the GOP could find somebody more incompetent he'd have to go with that.

15. It's not like the OP contained an endorsement or anything like that
and I take exception to the utterly incorrect claim that 'posting what RW repubs think' is against the rules on DU. This is a place where researching the opposition is actually encouraged. You have the right to ignore such discussion if you like, but to announce that you're unreccing a thread because it breaks your personal rules?

I'll have to pay closer attention to the calendar, making sure I vote next time there's a DU election for Arbiters of All That's Proper for Discussion. You won't be getting my vote.

I said I unrecced for that reason. Personal prerogative. And BTW, it's probably not LBN anyway.
Don't like it? Alert.

26. And it is important for Democrats to be informed as to what the Republicans are saying and doing
Or would you prefer that Democrats be kept ignorant? Would ignorant Democrats make better advocates for the party than informed Democrats?

13. I support Perry being
the Republican nominee for President. Because no one in their right mind would actually vote for him in the general election, that'll mean Obama would not only win in 2012, but would be thrown back into office by a populous terrified of Perry (with good reason). It'll show a mandate and make 2012 - 2016 easier for Obama.

25. It's not like
the Republicans are going to forget to put someone up this time. Or maybe that they aren't going to bother. It's best to put someone that will put the fear in them.. Someone that pretty much lives the Sideshow Bob promise to "Lower your taxes, brutalize your criminals and RULE YOU LIKE A KING."
McCain purposely threw the 2008 campaign. He made himself as unattractive to voters as he could. Perry won't do that. But hopefully he'll scare enough people to vote for Obama.

24. Hmmmm....Inhofe has always been big on closing the borders. How does that work w/ Perry?
Perry is practically to the left of La Raza on border issues. (That alone will sink him in the primaries once that becomes known.)
Otherwise, it's two peas in a pod.
