WASHINGTON -- The United States is bracing for possible terrorist attacks before the November presidential election, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice said Sunday.

The opportunity for terrorists to try to influence the election, as was the case last month in Spain, appears to be an opportunity that would "be too good to pass up for them," Rice said.

"I think that we do have to take very seriously the thought that the terrorists might have learned, we hope, the wrong lesson from Spain," Rice told "Fox News Sunday."

"I think we also have to take seriously that they might try during the cycle leading up to the election to do something," she said.

2. If she's worried about something happening...
Then why doesn't she just pop into Cheney's office and ask him straight out what he's planning?

7. the supreme court
will do nothing to prevent the general election, there is no case law to do so.no supreme court judge would want his or her name in the history books as backing such an action.

12. one would think...
...that no supreme court justice would want their signature affixed to a decision to throw a Presidential election one way or another either...oh, wait, they didn't sign it, did they.

Sorry, but I don't have the faith you do in the nobility, integrity or honor of the Bushbot 5 sitting on the USSC.

4. Another terrorist attack = They are truely fucking clueless
I think even the dumbest Joe-Sixpack-God-Guns-N-Guts Freeper would start to associate this administration with true dumbassed incompetence. Mr. Sixpack would actually demand a change, even if it's Kerry.

I just don't see how another terra attack could help this administration, not even a little bit.

5. ok we are warned
that a terrorist strike is coming..how do we know if you stopped an attack? what proof? and if you don`t-kiss your asses good-bye. the terror strike was the final blow for the spainish people-it was the lies about the oil spill, the iraqi war and the blaming the bombing on the basque party among other things that kicked out the ruling class in spain.condi reminds me of the maid in "billy madison"....

9. Any one remember This: Al Qaeda For Bush in November.
CAIRO (Reuters) - A group claiming to have links with al Qaeda said on Wednesday it was calling a truce in its Spanish operations to see if the new Madrid government would withdraw its troops from Iraq, a pan-Arab newspaper said
<snip>

WE WANT BUSH TO WIN

The statement said it supported U.S. President George W. Bush in his reelection campaign, and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry, as it was not possible to find a leader "more foolish than you (Bush), who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom."

In comments addressed to Bush, the group said:

"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilisation."

"Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected."
