(Wisconsin Gov.) Walker wants to drop defense of state gay couple law
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Gov. Scott Walker believes a new law that gives gay couples hospital visitation rights violates the state constitution and has asked a judge to allow the state to stop defending it.

Democrats who controlled the Legislature in 2009 changed the law so that same-sex couples could sign up for domestic partnership registries with county clerks to secure some - but not all - of the rights afforded married couples.

Wisconsin Family Action sued last year in Dane County circuit court, arguing that the registries violated a 2006 amendment to the state constitution that bans gay marriage and any arrangement that is substantially similar.

... "Governor Walker, in deference to the legal opinion of the attorney general that the domestic partner registry ... is unconstitutional, does not believe the public interest requires a continued defense of this law," says the brief, filed by Walker's chief counsel, Brian Hagedorn.

1. He's a real gem, alright. How soon until a recall?
Plenty of other GOP guvs about as bad, but you can count on Walker to pull something like this to stay at the "top."

2. What a no good mean little prick of a man
:grr:

Loved ones should be able to see someone when they are sick or dying.

I wonder if Scott knows that the elections are rigged and he can do any damn thing he wants to do?

3. No what he does know is that his time is short, so
he is going to do as much damage as possible before he gets recalled. Its the same thing the GOP in the house is trying to do right now.

4. i hope you are right
I kind of think that republicans nationally know that the population demographics are going to
be brutal to them so they are trying to loot every last nickel they can now.

9. On the Contrary
There would be no point to all this if it would only cause
us to recall them all and put the Democrats back in power.

Walker thinks that Koch's billions make him invincible.

He and Koch will make the Tee Vee tell everyone to vote for him
and they are sure that the people Will Obey.

I hope that we can prove them wrong.

8. Here's a couple of gems
"Good. The governor is a smart man and realizes these sickos are not entitle to any rights for the abominable acts. Homosexuality is easily cured with prayer and I know our governor understands this! I know he will start funding these programs to get us back on the right track!"

"I don't see why your choice of lifestyle should entitle you to special
privileges."

11. Ah yes, Gov. "Hosni" Walker...what a fine soul you have...NOT.
YOU, Mr. Hate, want someone that may not have any family around, to lie in a hospital bed, possibly dying...and force them to be ALONE, because you don't want a partner to be allowed in.

What a shameless, soulless, heartless monster you are.

14. The scoundrel is a Psychopath
Back a few Madison rallies ago I was caught of guard by a news crew who asked me what I thought of Walker and I said he is a ‘PSYCHOPATH’! A term used until the 1980's to describe a personality disorder characterized by an abnormal lack of empathy masked by an ability to appear outwardly normal. Sounds like Scott Walker to me!

15. Walker Obviously Went Judge Shopping
So this Judge will agree with Walker, however, will order the Governor to temporarily enforce the law pending appeal. It will then end up before the State Supreme Court, where Republicans have the majority so it is anybody's guess how this will end up. Since Judges have to stand for election every 10 years a Judge up for election in 2012 will have that in mind as they make their ruling.
