Trump blames Ryan budget for GOP woes in NY special election
Source: The Hill

If Republican Jane Corwin goes down in defeat in the May 24 special election in New York's 26th congressional district, blame Republican Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) budget, Donald Trump said Wednesday.

Trump, speaking in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire, blamed Ryan's budget proposal — in particular, its controversial provision to reform Medicare — for dragging Corwin into a competitive race to replace resigned Rep. Chris Lee (R).

"A very popular Republican woman is running for the office. She was expected to win easily," Trump said in the Granite State. "She's having a hard time defending that whole situation with Medicare."

"Too early, too soon. There was no reason for him to do it," he later said.

So, to be clear, a prospective Republican Presidential candidate, and the darling of the "slash the budget" tea-partiers does not support the Republican Party position on cutting entitlements.

1. Really? I read it as he thinks the timing was off, not the ideology.
I could be wrong. Not that it matters. Trump won't run.

5. That's how I read it too.
"Too early, too soon."

He'd love to gut Medicare, but the unwashed masses are still not ignorant enough to accept it... yet.

11. He said it's too early and too soon. I guess it's OK by him if we do it later on.

3. Trump has a multiple personality disorder. He once called for single payer healthcare...

...and called for a one time, massive surtax on the wealthy to pay off the deficit. This guy will say whatever he feels like saying at the time. Consistency is for suckers.

4. "The Democrats...... are doing a number on that plan unlike anything I've ever seen."
I am disappointed that Democrats are restraining themselves so much. Why not do a number two on the plan instead of just pissing on it?

10. Who knows?
What he is complaining about is that Ryan released it too early.

"Too early, too soon. There was no reason for him to do it," he later said.

13. so according to Trump, the problem is not the budget and its draconian measures ..
but rather the timing of when it was put out to the public, so close to an election. That guy is a real genius. At times it seems like he is morphing into the male version of Sarah Palin.
