Facing protests, Pscholka withdraws from Blossomtime parade
By Eartha Jane Melzer

State Rep. Al Pscholka (R-Stevensville), House sponsor of Michigan’s Emergency Manager law, has announced that he will not participate in the annual St. Joseph/Benton Harbor Blossomtime parade this Saturday because people are planning to protest.

Pscholka’s bill, which was signed into law in March, has been used to strip the Benton Harbor City Commission of all decision making power, a move that has inspired protests, national television coverage, calls for legal action and an effort to recall him.

In a Facebook message Pscholka said that the parade, which will be lead by Gov. Rick Snyder, “is not, in any way, a tasteful forum for political dialogue.”

“When I got word that there was a possibility of protestors at the Blossomtime Parade, I was deeply disappointed and angered, to say the least. With every indication that the protests will still take place there, I have made the decision not to participate as part of the parade procession.

4. That was MY first thought!
All these little Hitlers need to be made uncomfortable at EVERY chance. Just think of all the discomfort and woes they've pereptrated on lawful, vote-wielding citizens! :grr:

9. Thank you very much
We appreciate all the support. Not trying by any means to steal traffic from DU. The blog is independently written articles by a number of graduated or soon to graduate college students studying economics of political science.

13. That is better than posting it over and over rather than replying to posts
Better way to make sure people see it and that you aren't just spamming.

19. You're being stripped of your rights as citizens, but don't
fucking be rude or distasteful people!! We heard the old "be civil, don't be rude" shit during Bush v. Gore. Do the cons really think we'll still fall for that bullshit?

23. At least Benton Harbor is taking some sort of action
I don't know about anyone else, but it damn well PISSES ME OFF when I see my rights being taken away. And I FIRMLY believe that an affront to the rights of ANYONE is an affront to MY rights.

So GO BENTON HARBOR! Make these fuckers as uncomfortable as you can EVERYWHERE THEY POKE THEIR HEADS UP IN PUBLIC! DON'T let them get away with it!
