4. If true, he should never be released from prison.
I hope it was a misunderstanding, but if not you just can't have that sort of person roaming freely. Either he belongs in a secure mental health unit or a maximum security prison. These sort of people always end up killing or seriously harming someone.

...present at the time and are reported to have taken pictures as he was being apprehended so I would be surprised if more information, at least in the form of pictures, does not come out soon.

19. Exactly.
He MAY HAVE also been pulling a cell phone out of his pocket to take a picture, or just been getting ready to pick his nose.

No one knows for sure except the fear-based media.

MYFOXNY.COM STAFF REPORT

MYFOXNY.COM - A man may have pulled a gun as President Obama's motorcade drove in Lower Manhattan on Thursday.

The report, on nj.com , cited witnesses from the scene. The report claimed that the man "may have" pulled the gun from a backpack.

NYPD officers and Secret Service agents shouted for people to get down as they tackled the man. It happened at the corner of Church and Vessey Streets.

President Obama had just left the World Trade Center when it happened.

Press photographers reportedly took photos of the incident but they have not been published.

28. "bike delivery mook" as undercover Secret Service disguise?
Doesn't look like a misunderstanding to me either.

Logical undercover operative in street mufti would be NYPD, not SS. I don't see SS dressing in street mufti, that would be local LEO. (I could be wrong here)

But too many cops around to successfully get away with "NYPD, coming through" for very long.

"Secret Service, coming through" just off-enough to not get called BS on immediately, for an extra minute or two, maybe.

34. A dumbass mook bike messenger
in a field that has been wholly decimated by technology (article below from **20** years ago!)

http://www.nytimes.com/1991/03/19/world/fax-displacing-manhattan-bike-couriers.html

looking to hustle as many deliveries for the day as possible

and thinks "Secret Service, coming through" is a good way to get through instead of around.

These guys used to be BRUTAL out on the streets back in the day. You couldn't step out into a crosswalk with a freaking green light without making sure one of these maniacs wasn't doing 40 through the red light.

31. He was released
From the NY Daily News

Twenty minutes before the drama, the unidentified man was walking his bike, navigating his way through the crowd.

"Secret Service!" he hollered. "Secret Service! Coming through!"

Cops pulled the man to his feet and hustled him into the post office. NYPD officials said the man was questioned after the 2:20 p.m. clash and released.

It wasn't immediately clear why he was detained.

39. "May have" - a non-story - especially since there wasn't any gun
but perhaps he had once seen a picture of a gun. Better to have shot him just to be safe and deter anyone else from ever thinking of a gun. After all, the 1st amendment protects speech but is completely silent about thoughts. We have the opportunity to train a whole generation about the consequences of prohibited thinking.:sarcasm:
