Mexico gang leader 'captured over killings'

The Mexican Navy has said it has captured a suspected leader of the Zetas drug gang allegedly behind the mass killings of more than 100 people in northeastern Mexico.

Martin Omaar Estrada Luna, said to be the local leader of the gang, was captured on Saturday. He is accused of masterminding the murders of 145 people in Tamaulipas state near the US border.

1. The Zetas are a right wing cartel
They were formed by former elite commandos of the Mexican military. Their policy is basically, kill everybody. Lovely.

Mexico: The surf, the sand...the severed heads!

The Mexican Marines have an ethos not unlike the USMC and have so far remained uncorrupted.

but I get the distinct impression he would rather be dead, than captured.

Animals like this need to sped their entire lives in something akin to the Black Hole of Calcutta.

8. More 'war on drugs' fallout
I believe much of the violence is a result of the US's 'war on drugs' policy, so much blood is on 'our' hands, imho.
I live 100 miles north of 'ground zero' of the war on drugs, Juarez, Mexico, so I am acutely aware of the killings; sickened beyond belief when I hear of gangs killin at rehab centers (recruiting stations for the cartels, I think).
