3. And some are from other faults...
supposedly completely unrelated to the first. I guess all they need now is for the volcano to blow.

7. It was showing signs of activity...
but hasn't really blown, and let's pray it doesn't.

15. It is already causing havoc. Spewing lava, rocks, and the volcanic cloud has...
disrupted flights in and out of Japan to and from China, Korea, and Taiwan.
And folks near the volcano have already been evacuated.

8. The big red square on the quake map I posted @ #1 just happened
in the last hour and it looks like a 6 or 7 by the legend of the map.

9. True -- there have been more than 200 quakes/Aftershocks and still at range of 6 --
I keep mentioning that they have a total of 55 reactors at 17 complexes --

and wondering if concerns might ever be high enough to shut them down?

11. I suspect right now...
they feel they have no choice but to try to keep everything that generates electricity online. The big question is will they be on the fast track to abandoning nuclear energy once this disaster reaches what ever conclusion it is going to reach, and will we (and the rest of the world) be on that fast track? I have to wonder, how safe will the reactors in Iran be, though I suspect earthquakes and tsunamis won't be a big concern, but what if an Israeli missile hits one?

12. Agree with you on those questions ... we have a reactor on Lake Erie ... !!!
Edited on Wed Mar-16-11 12:13 AM by defendandprotect
but just want to make clearer that not ALL aftershocks have been 6 -- but

last three I heard of were --

Some were down to 4 -- maybe some even less?

My first reaction to this was amazement that the nation we so damaged and destroyed with

by dropping atomic weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have nuclear reactors at all!!

Simply ironic!! In fact, I've seen some pics of older women who may have been alive in

'45 --

How did this happen?

Re Lake Erie -- Kucinich was just relating that on Schultz earlier -- that's a huge fresh

water supply? PLUS CA has reactors on fault lines!!

Did they just go out and do the most insane thing they could think of ???

20. Why am I suddenly reminded of the line from Star Trek IV
where Spock explains to Kirk and the rest of the crew that in the late 20th century America, nuclear reactors were placed on fault lines?

2. It was confusing
It kinda sounded like they were replaying events from Monday, when they talked about the 6.0.

5. I have found it difficult for a couple of days now
when reading stories determining if this a new event or is this a rehash of an older event.

10. I've found that difficult too
Especially with the nuclear disaster. You hear reports of explosions and fires, then later you hear reports of explosions and fires and between the time difference, the number of rumors and false reports, and just the rehash of earlier reports, it gets really difficult to make sense of what is new news, and what is already settled news.
