Arizona Sen. John McCain is calling the shooting involving U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords a terrible tragedy that has shocked the nation.

McCain, who is in Cartagena, Colombia, meeting with Colombian's president, Juan Manuel Santos, said Saturday:

"I'm deeply saddened and shocked at the tragedy that has taken place in my home state of Arizona. The shooting of Congresswoman Giffords and the deaths of other individuals is a terrible tragedy and one that has shocked me and our nation.

The Republican says that his "prayers are with congresswoman's husband Mark and her entire family and the families of the other victims of this terrible, terrible tragedy."

9. Palin was your prom date McCain,
now it's your turn to dance with her.
This blood is on your hands as much as it is hers.
Thanks a lot of turning his monster in high heels loose on our country.
Rotten, old bastard.

4. 'reload' or go back in to the fight again, ...Those (words) are fine.
"This is -- any threat of violence is terrible, but to say that there is a targeted district or that we 'reload' or go back in to the fight again, please...Those are fine. They're used all the time," he said, adding: "Those words have been used throughout of my political career. There are targeted districts, and there are areas that we call battleground states, and so please, that rhetoric and kind of language is just part of the political lexicon. There is no place for threats of violence or anything else, but to say that someone is in a battleground state is not originated today."

5. Calling it a tragedy is inaccurate. It is a terrible, terrible crime, a terrible,
terrible act of political terrorism. I'm waiting for our politicians to call this for what it is.

And it is an act of political terrorism even if the guy or guys who did it were mentally ill.

There have been too many of these assassination attempts and murders by right-wing fanatics.

The right-wing politicians need to call persistently and loudly for nonviolence.

Many of us who are considered to be on the left call for nonviolence every chance we get.

Without nonviolence, there can be no democracy.

7. Agreed--John McCain shares much of the blame.
This is the result of bigotry and incendiary language--both practiced with abandon by John McCain.

16. You have (more) blood on your hands, Senator John McCain.
YOU foisted her on America and consistently defend her and your sorry, desperate choice. You even defended her urging the politics of "crosshairs" and "reload."

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

Apologize and unequivocally denounce these methods. NOW.

When McCain announced his choice as running mate. Shove your shock and crocodile tears where the sun don't shine, ya lunatic.

Like a defeated Roman general, or a Japanese admiral.

But, you have no honor left.
