US Drone to Honduras AA.FF.

US Drone to Honduras AA.FF.

TEGUCIGALPA - Honduras Air Force will fly drones similar to those the US has used at the war in Afghanistan which are fitted with cameras and landscape censors.

Soto Cano base (Palmerola), also home to 600 US soldiers, will fly the unmanned plane which The Herald claims will be used in anti-drug and natural disaster operations.

Last april, US Ambassador Hugo Llorens and President Profirio Lobo signed the "Merida Carcy" drug enforcement accord for which Washington transfered some four million USD to fund military training, border patrol and special AA.FF. special units, among other.

The program included two million USD for the new naval base in Gracias a Dios Department, on the border with Nicaragua.

3. and what about AA.FF. ?
The text is in English so it should be A.F. as an abbreviation. And is Air Force in spanish a plural? Even if so, it would be F before A, right?

Just curious.

6. That’s the way acronyms typically are
en Español.

Para ejemplo, Los Estados Unidos (The United States) is abbreviated EEUU.

Of course, if they hired me, that wouldn't happen.

5. Drones Will Fly Surveillance Missions in Honduras
Drones Will Fly Surveillance Missions in Honduras
Tuesday, 28 December 2010 08:26

Cuba's Prensa Latina and Costa Rica's Inside Costa Rica are reporting today that the Honduran Air Force plans to fly unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or "drones", out of Soto Cano Air Base near Comayagua. Soto Cano is a joint military base, which is also home to the United States' Joint Task Force-Bravo. Approximately 600 US soldiers are based at Soto Cano. The drones would reportedly be fitted with cameras and landscape sensors. According to an article in Honduras' El Heraldo newspaper, cited by Prensa Latina, the vehicles would be used for anti-drug and natural disaster surveillance related missions. The US military operates numerous types of drone aircraft in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan for both surveillance and combat purposes, including General Atomics' Predator and Reaper vehicles. The use of drones by the US military has risen dramatically under the Obama administration and has been the source of extreme controversy. US drones launching Hellfire air-to-surface tactical missiles have killed hundreds of innocent civilians due to technical malfunctions or accidental targeting, leading to the view that their use may be strategically counterproductive to US warfighting and anti-terrorism efforts because of the anti-US sentiment the policy is fueling. and it was Reagan's administration helping them as they made major changes to their constitution, which has been designed to favor the elites, clearly, and suppress the opportunity for democracy.

From Wiki:
Constitution of 11 January 1982Following several decades of military governments, a constituent assembly prepared a new constitution, agreed on it on 11 January 1982 and published it on 20 January 1982 in the official journal "La Gaceta".<3> Since then, the National Congress of Honduras made 26 amendments (ratified in 1984, 1986, 1987 (twice), 1988 (twice), 1990, 1991, 1995 (twice), 1996, 1998, 1999 (three times), 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 (four times), 2004 (twice) and 2005 (twice)) and 10 interpretations from 1982 to 2005.<1>

The 13th amendment to the Constitution was voted by Congress on 30 September 1998, to make the President commander in chief of the armed forces.<6> The amendment was ratified by Congress by a vote of 128-0 on 26 January 1999<7> and signed by President Flores. This ended 42 years of military autonomy; the military had previously been governed by a military parliament and a commander in chief from the armed forces.

The head of the OAS, Oscar Arias, said it is truly the worst Constitution he has ever read. And we helped!

9. Blurring the lines between the DEA and CIA...
after reports have come out that the DEA is overstepping its bounds. Anti-terrorism technology to be used by a military dictatorship for "drugs"... Suuuure they'll use it for drugs. And I'm sure if they're actually going to fly them on their own, they'll need a little training from our boys. Maybe they'll start a drone piloting class at the School of the Americas.

18. earcandle
US brand of fascism. Hitler encouraged organic food, exercise and offered loans with no interest. He targeted Jews, gays and gypsies.

The US encourages toxic air , food and water. Big Pharma and Big Ag.

There are no loans. WE target anybody with oil under their feet , the elderly and the poor. History will judge the US form of fascism as more deadly than Hitlers'.

16. This is a horrible development. Watch for the death toll to rise in Honduras
By doing this we are supporting a fascist dictatorship.
No wonder that most of Latin America hates us, we STILL keep propping up and supporting murderous right wing dictators.
Obama, you should be ashamed of yourself.
