Police: Man shot 3 men in Ill., Ind., killing 1

CHICAGO — Three men in Illinois and Indiana have been shot, one of them fatally, by a suspect who police say tried to talk to them about bees.

Pat Barry, spokesman for the Will County sheriff's department, says the man shot two construction workers at an unoccupied home Tuesday near Beecher.

One worker was wounded, and a second was killed. Barry says a third worker was able to escape into a cornfield.

After the shooting, Barry says the suspect fled in a 1990s pickup truck and crossed into Indiana, where a farmer was also shot and wounded.
