Rahm Emanuel Steps Down, Pete Rouse Will Be Interim Chief Of Staff
Source: HuffPo

President Barack Obama on Friday said a bittersweet goodbye to the energetic and fierce manager of his White House, chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, and elevated a quiet and seasoned adviser, Pete Rouse, to the most important gate-keeping job in American politics.

"We could not have accomplished what we've accomplished without Rahm's leadership," Obama said. Emanuel is departing after nearly two grueling years to run for Chicago mayor.

The announcement was such a poorly kept secret that Obama joked it was "the least suspenseful announcement of all time," but it represented an important moment of transition for the presidency.

6. The ENTIRE "Personal Life" section of Rouse's wiki reads:
"Personal Life
Rouse is a lifelong bachelor who enjoys raising his Maine coon cats.<14> His mother, the daughter of Japanese immigrants, grew up in Anchorage starting in World War I, when it was a railroad construction town.<15>"

Couple of reactions:

1/ Immaculate conception?

2/ Does this section try to make him sound eccentric? I've read a lot of people's wikis Can't remember ever seeing anything like "enjous raising his Maine coon cats" before.

As for his appointment, we'll see. I'm not a Daschle fan, but Rouse is an individual. We'll see.

7. Two more reactions:
1) glad i don't live in Chicago.

2) kinda like how Rouse helped expose Palin.
