Turtles found slain; nests worry activists
Source: Florida Today

COCOA BEACH Two sea turtles that washed up dead on this city's beach were beheaded.

No one has been arrested.

Cocoa Beach police responded last week to a report of someone disturbing a sea turtle carcass behind Twin Towers condominium.

Two men told police they saw an older white male "sawing the head off" an 800-pound turtle, according to the police report. A bucket with the turtle head inside was found near a trash can at the beach.

2. Marta & I contribute to the Sea Turtle Preservation Society often

I adopted a nest for her Mother's Day present a couple years ago. First the BP burn off. Then there were 2 sea turtles tide up, tortured, and drowned (Alabama I think). Now this. With these odds, I'm sure none of Marta's nest survived.

K&R!

4. He was probably afraid it was there to lay eggs and he didn't
want to have to stay off the beach until they hatched.
