Greenpeace protestor disrupts BP boss speech
Source: afp

AFP - A Greenpeace protestor disrupted a speech on Tuesday by a top BP executive standing in for the oil group's boss Tony Hayward at a London oil conference.

Emma Gibson repeatedly called for an "end of the age of oil" at the start of the speech by Steve Westwell, drafted in at the last minute after Hayward pulled out to deal with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
...

In comments issued by Greenpeace, she was cited as saying: "Deepwater drilling risks disasters like the Gulf spill while tar sands means clear-cutting forests and literally cooking the ground below to produce oil."
...
Greenpeace identified Gibson as a mother of three children who is one of its campaigners.

2. The yacht race was last Saturday
Its rumoured that today he went out for a bottle of milk and a newspaper followed by a quick shit. He's currently believed to mowing the lawn. Watch this space for more tantilising news.

4. Emma Gibson speaks for us all!
It's interesting how protest events like this, with one lone protester or just a few (I'm thinking about Cindy Sheehan, and Code Pink), seem like "voices crying in the wilderness" and cause some slight discomfort in the halls of power--like a mosquito bite--and vague uneasiness in the corpo-fascist 'news' stream "river of forgetfulness" (um, remember mosquitoes? yeah, that. any more lurking in the swamps?).

The people of the U.S. and the people of the world really have no voice and no power, as to what our corporate rulers do. Individuals among us pipe up--sometimes at great risk to themselves--as the ONLY WAY to get attention for the views and interests of MOST PEOPLE. And even we, the great unwashed masses, feel discomfort, uneasiness, that it is only one or two who have the courage and creativity to be heard, ever so briefly, in the hurricane of corpo-fascist propaganda from the corpo-fascist 'news' monopolies. Of course, even when millions march, we are not heard. The corporate rulers want an oil war; they get an oil war. And thus, we learn, 'why bother?' And thus we are reduced to lone voices in the wilderness of corpo-fascist 'news' garbage: one woman, speaking for us all.
