Cheney avoids hot topics in speech to sold-out Erie crowd
Source: go erie

Vice President Dick Cheney has made headlines since he left office with criticism of the Obama administration's handling of terrorists

But it was a different Cheney who spoke Wednesday night in Erie.

He didn't rip into the president or his policies, according to those who attended.

...

Cheney did find fault with the amount of spending under the Obama administration and other economic issues, according to Moore.

But Moore said there was some overreaching in President George W. Bush's presidency, too.

The government bailouts started late in Bush's administration and continued during Obama's presidency, Moore said. "On spending, between the Republicans and Democrats, there's not a lot of difference between the two,'' said Moore, a Republican.

But Moore said Cheney acknowledged that Obama has a lot on his agenda and is earning his pay. That agenda is headlined by a still shaky economy, the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Others said Cheney was mostly hands-off on the Obama administration.

10. Former VP Cheney Speaks At Pa. Conference
Source: AP

ERIE, Pa. (AP) ― Former Vice President Dick Cheney came to western Pennsylvania this week to talk before a crowd of more than 1,000 people at the Manufacturer & Business Association's annual convention.

Cheney spoke for about an hour Wednesday night in Erie and took questions from the crowd. The media was only allowed to be present during the first five minutes of Cheney's speech.

The Erie Times-News spoke to attendees who say that Cheney spoke about the Sept. 11 terror attacks and the many issues facing the country today. Business owner Howard Lincoln says Cheney empathized with the Obama administration for having such a full plate of issues to deal with.

Cheney told the crowd he has been busy working on his memoirs. The book is due to be published next year.

15. AP is just a stenographer

Chamber of Commerce type businessman Howard Lincoln was the one saying Cheney didn't bash Obama. AP, like the good little pro-corporate lapdog it is, reported it as if it were a verified fact.

16. Just Kill Yourself, Dick
Seriously.

For the first and only time in your life, accept and take responsibility for the World you helped create.

It wouldn't solve the world's problems, but it would be a good start.

And before you go, please convince the Giggling Murderer and the rest of his inbred family to join you in the first step to making the world to a better place.

Thanks in advance. :)
