CA AG Brown Challenges GOP Rivals To Debate
Source: CBS

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown on Saturday challenged his potential GOP rivals to an unprecedented bipartisan debate before the state's June primary, giving a resounding response to criticism that he has been slow to enter the political fight.

Outgunned by the personal wealth of Republicans Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner, Brown told cheering delegates at the state party's annual convention that the campaign for governor cannot be purchased with millions in television ads.

Instead, he called for an "honest, prime-time" three-way debate before the June 8 primary.

"Let's hear the different ideas," Brown said. "The key here, is this a democracy?"

2. Yes...GO Jerry GO
IF I see another (ohhhh, and there will be MORE) "Neg" Meg or Steve "Poison" ad...I'm gonna barf.

There is this though:

"Is Meg Whitman trying to be the new Oprah?"

http://www.thepoliticalcarnival.net/2010/04/is-meg-whitman-trying-to-be-new-oprah.html

"And this week, nearly 500,000 Republican households across the state are getting free copies of Meg, the magazine."

I repeat...BARF!

4. I'm so happy to see that Jerry Brown is running.
I firmly believe that he will win. He is the best candidate.

Meg Whitman is trying too hard. She has no experience. Schwarzenegger has shown us that you can't manage the tough stuff -- the crises -- without a lot of experience and knowledge of how government works. The Schwarzenegger years have been just awful for California.

I will be supporting Jerry Brown 100%. Can't wait to start helping with the campaign as much as I am able.

5. Whitman will run on her business acumen and financial smarts. Neither exists in reality, but
could sound very good to bankrupt Californians.

Republicans have condition them to believe that every financial problem California has is about big government, financial mismangement and waste. Nothing to do with the fact that Californians will not allow tax increases.

Which is to say, Brown is going to need donations and boots on the ground. I like Brown a lot. The DLC may not like him all that much. The Clintons sure don't. A So, I'm hoping California Democrats have been volunteering for him in large numbers.
