AP Sources: Militia suspected police-killing plot
By DEVLIN BARRETT (AP) – 13 minutes ago

WASHINGTON — People familiar with the case against seven suspects arrested by the FBI this weekend say the case revolves around a plot to kill police officers.

Two law enforcement officials tell The Associated Press that members of the group in the Midwest had planned multiple attacks on police officers or other law enforcement personnel as a way of acting out their hatred for the government.

The officials said the raids and arrests stopped the plot before such attacks could be carried out. The officials are speaking on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

The plot allegedly was hatched by members of a Christian militia group called Hutaree. The charges are expected to be unsealed when some of the suspects appear in court later Monday.

This can't be ignored any longer, lest the corporate media relegate themselves to utter irrelevance. Right wing, you've got yourself a domestic terrorism problem on your hands. No amount of spin can erase the fact that some folks under your 'big tent' were planning on murdering police officers. Have you forgotten about 9/11 sofa king soon? You sure like to toss around '9/11' like a mantra of fear when it suits your purposes, yet here we find ourselves with domestic terrorists in your own camp plotting to kill police officers - POLICE OFFICERS! - the same people who were lauded as heroic at Ground Zero. Is your memory that short?

May you NEVER recover from this debacle, and may you wear this rotting albatross corpse around your neck forevermore.

CNN: Christian militia members charged with plots to kill police officers
March 29,2010

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/03/defendants-in-fbi-raids-on-midwest-militia-groups-set-to-appear-in-court-today/1

FBI raids in three Midwestern states, including at the reported site of a Christian militia group, has netted at least four arrests.

The Detroit Free Press says defendants will appear in court today in Detroit in connection with arrests in Michigan. Raids were also conducted in Indiana and Ohio.

The Michigan defendants were seized in a raid on the Christian warrior group Hutaree, the newspaper says.

Hutaree's Web site contains messages from people talking about the raids, but none confirmed that the group had been hit.

The Web site also says the Christian warrior group is "preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive."

The Detroit News quotes sources from the Michigan militia community as saying one of the raids occurred during a wake for a Hutaree member who had died of natural causes.

The FBI is providing little information until sealed indictments are made public.

The Free Press reports that a member of the Southeast Michigan Volunteer Militia, which was not the target of the raids, said one of its leaders got a frantic phone call Saturday evening from members of Hutaree who said their property was being raided by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Update at 10:11 a.m. ET: CNN reports that the federal indictment, unsealed in Detroit this morning , accuses nine people of conspiracy to commit violence against local, state and federal law enforcement officers.

The document, CNN reports, calls Hutaree an "anti-government, extremist group" and says it has been planning its attacks since 2008.

CNN says the documents charge that the group advocated luring officers into an ambush through fake 911 calls, and also discussed killing officers or their families at home.

CNN says seven people were arrested in the raids.

14. "....to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive."
Whole quote: "preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive."

I just love how all of these hypocritical moronic freaks (including those in our legislature and the other "Christians" who talk the talk but sure as hell don't walk the walk) appear completely unable to see how their actions would have been an anathema to their Jesus and they're doing anything but following in the steps of Jesus.

21. "Planning its attacks since 2008."
lol

More like they're cowards, and they couldn't find somebody willing to do it. These nuts are meth-head losers that have the "I want a revolution, but do it for me!" mentality. Their bodies are falling apart from meth use and obesity, and they aren't even good soldiers for a militia. Check out their training videos on YouTube. Even one marine could probably kill 20 of them. In a real battle, they would chicken out as the first bullet went over their heads and surrender.

It's because these groups care about meth first, and their cause second. They're more than happy to rat each other out. Hutaree is screwed. Goodbye, nutjobs!

13. The Waco siege was not the result of service of warrants.
It was the result of fringe ignorance. Warrants are standard practice when placing people under arrest.

However, they're probably the weakest-willed cowards on the planet. They're ready to denounce their cause and work with the police at the drop of a hat. It's off to jail for them!

20. Liberals don't kill cops
We may call them pigs... a few pathetic and guilty among us may date and sleep with them because men in uniform are hot to some people (myself of course not among those). But we don't kill them.

This is wrong on so many levels. First Federal employees and their families in a homemade terrorism bomb blast. Then IRS employees in a plane attack. Now this.

And WE'RE "the bad guys"? :grr:

22. The media ignored it successfully during the Clinton years.
One big question I would like to know is that who is behind it. Where was these nutjobs during the Bush years? It takes a lot of organising to get this amount of TV and media coverage for such a small minority.

The Democrats called Bush out on his fony war and other scandals for years and got no traction in the press until roughly the 5th year of his presidency.

more and more people I talk to are just finding out about them and how FOX and AM radio has been fueling the fire. Over the last week, I have had family and friends over, and many have voiced anger and concern in regards to these extremists. And yes, a few were conservatives, actual conservatives, not these nazi know-nothings.

GOP, you created this mess, now it's your monster...

Guess they're okay with some aspects of government.
