Iran urges supporters to take to streets
Source: AFP

TEHRAN — The Iranian regime urged its supporters out onto the streets of major cities on Wednesday in a show of force against the opposition which it accuses of being "pawns of the enemies."

The massive rallies have been called for by the Islamic republic's clerics, armed forces and seminary schools in response to a string of opposition protests against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's disputed June re-election.

Opposition websites reported that some state-owned factories have allocated transport for employees to be taken to the rallies, while traditional bazzars have closed for the day in some cities.

State television showed live footage on Wednesday of gatherings in different cities excluding Tehran.

5. Their reformation must be purely of the people & free of outside influence. Obama understands this.
The only thing we can do for Iran is pray for them in our own ways. Let God hear his children crying out for the people of Iran from all the paths that lead to Him.

3. "State television showed live footage"
Probably similar to the "live" footage of rallies that Faux News shows here.

7. Iranian news covered their missile launch also
and doctored it..... maybe not this bad but enough that the world caught it.

Most Iranians despise their religious autocracy.
I hope they keep fighting the good fight.

9. Thousands of Iranians rally in support of government, call for Mousavi's death
As opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi attends the funeral of his nephew, who was killed during Sunday's anti-government protests, Iranian officials blame the West for the unrest.

Reporting from Tehran and Beirut - Thousands of Iranian government supporters at a central Tehran rally today called for the death of opposition leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi and the hanging of anti-government protesters, state television reported.

. . .

A speaker addressing the crowd said "the great Satan," America, was behind the unrest in the country, and the crowd chanted slogans of "Death to America," "Death to Israel" and "Death to Britain."
