Blair fends off Kelly questions
Tony Blair has fended off questions over the death of weapons expert Dr David Kelly - but acknowledged that trust in his government was an issue which he had to confront.
Mr Blair, who said his appetite for power remained "undiminished" despite his recent troubles, said he understood the "very legitimate questions" to be asked over Dr Kelly's death.

SNIP

He said he remained confident that the intelligence on Saddam Hussein's weapons programmes received by the government was correct.

He said: "There has always been something bizarre about the notion that Saddam never had any weapons of mass destruction."

1. Oh dear
He said: "There has always been something bizarre about the notion that Saddam never had any weapons of mass destruction."

Has it ever occured to poodle boy that the reason we have this notion is because not a shred of evidence has come up to support his claims? Hence it is only logical to conclude that Scott Ritter was corrct all along and Blair was telling porkies.

Boy has poodle boy become detached from reality.

4. Naw - he's spinning on purpose
No one would ever dare to say Iraq NEVER had WMD's - as everyone knows they were produced, used, and admitted by Iraq, and (mostly)found and destroyed by UN.

Bliar just tries to smear his opponents as "bizarre", by hinting they were pretending Iraq never ever had weapons. Mind as well, he again does not speak about "imminent threat" or weapons any more, just about "weapon programs".

5. I know, typical Blairite shit
it is annoying how the Blairites tend never to argue about an issue directly but simply to try to portray anyone who dares critisize their policies as being some sort of backwards commie or Tory mole. No wonder they are so very out of touch.

While I'm on the suject, here's 2 jags Prescott the thug bullying Labour MP's.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3109227.stm

Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has launched an astonishing attack on disaffected Labour MPs who continue to criticise the government by warning them to: "Shut up for the summer".

He said that while they were free to complain about the government's failings, it was about time they balanced these remarks by talking up its achievements.

Jeez, what a whiny little sod. What more proof is needed that "new" labour just does not listen?

6. The war was never about WMD
it has always been about oil and world domination. Through their own admissions there were no Nuclear WMD, and WMD was the best they could settle on to sell the war. Their reason for war was not good enough to sell itself.

12. Ulterior motives
Not having any just reason to invade Iraq Bush & Blair settled on WMD. Now most people over here saw through WMD as a flimsy excuse which did not stand up to the scrutiny of simple logic (if saddam has them, won't he use them if we invade?) or indeed to the scrutiny of UN inspections.

Nonetheless that was less of a repugnent pretext then the real reasons we went in, namely to steal the Iraqi's oil and to appease the wanker in the whitehouse. Those reasons were never touched on in the run-up to war for obvious reasons.

Mind you, if Blair had been honest and said yes I want to steal the Iraqi's oil and I like kissing $hrubya's butt then maybe some people might have a little more respect for him. As it is he looks like a complete liar, and one who lies on the critical issue of peace and war at that. For me that is just unforgivable.

13. It isn't going away yet
The enquiry is yet to start.

Blair clearly wants to move away from Iraq now he has bombed the place but the little matter of the truth seems to be coming back to haunt him at present.

Sad thing is, had he stood up to Bush and told the truth he would most likely still be something resembling popular and would not be in any danger of losing his job. Blair has made an enourmous mistake by embarking on a policy of appeasment & capitulation to the PNAC and the only way out for this government is for Blair to go.

11. I saw part live. He's a real spin master feces.
'Iraq is democracy now because people can protest'.

Yes and we've shot into their crowds of protesters and killed them. Don't you even know what's going on in your war, (slaughter)?

'Just like we have a few demonstrators in front of #10'.

Yes, you've had about 2 million people protest you on the streets in England.

What a dirty little bastard!
