Kerry: Comment aimed at 'attack dogs' - Hastert takes 'great umbrage'
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/03/11/kerry.comment/

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry said on Thursday that he was not referring to all Republicans as "crooked" in an off-the-cuff comment captured on camera -- just his political opponents' "attack dogs."

After a union rally in Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday Kerry told a worker that "these guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group of people I've ever seen." His microphone was still on when he made the comments.

Kerry, who was on Capitol Hill Thursday to meet with Congressional Democrats, he told CNN, "I didn't say it about the Republicans, I said it about the attack dogs."

On Wednesday, a campaign aide had said that Kerry wasn't talking about President Bush.

1. I thought...
he said "attack squads". Not that it really matters, just curious.

I'm very glad he's done this--clarified that he wasn't talking about all Repubs. Just the lying crooked ones who have selfishly poisoned what there was of their party's good name!

Fuck you Foley.

is when you know it isn't true.

35. Mark Foley
has sex with young boys - they may be of legal age but they ARE YOUNG.. and he has the nerve to write Family Values Legislation..

I know someone in Washington that has the goods on him..

I almost gutted him verbally on MSNBC, it would have been fun, but counter productive..

he's a perv, folks.

(And NO, I am not bashing gays, I have many gay pals and they have normal relationships, they aren't predators like this guy..)

8. Great picture and quote of Hastert...

House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Illinois, said on Thursday that he took "great umbrage" at the comment.
"I am one of those Republicans in Illinois," he said. "If he wants to ascribe to me being crooked and a liar, I think he'll have his (comeuppance) coming." Hastert said Kerry's remarks were "the wrong way to step forward in this campaign."

I get a kick out of Hastert defending the proud reputation of "Republicans in IL." :-)

Hastert was hand picked by the extortionist bastard to be Speaker.

You can almost see Delay's left hand up Denny's ass working the lips.

17. A Republican In Illinois Complain He Is Called Crooked?
The Republican ex-Governor is under indictment for the most petty sort of thievery, and the Republican Party there is shattered under the popular knowledge that they are all, indeed, a cheap bunch of crooks, Hastert included....

"Desperate men do desperate things, and stupid men do stupid things. We are in for a desperately stupid summer."

21. Its laughable
I don't think there is a single political organization so incredibly corrupt as the Illinois GOP machine, with the possible exception of the Connecticut GOP machine. Hastert's just digging himself deeper.

Methinks Denny Hastert doth protest too much.

25. SOS!
When Harry Belafonte called Colon Bowel a 'house boy' or something equally accurate and endearing, Insanity and all the other members of the replicant attack machine were on television demanding an apology. The same thing happened when Aaron McGruder prominently featured OxyCondi 'magic mushroom cloud' Lice in several of this comic strips.

Let them all whoop and howl! As for Denial Hazard being offended by the comment, I'm offended everytime I see his face on television! I'm cool with what Kerry had to say so long as he holds his ground and don't even think about apologizing.

32. It was all just a case of mistaken identity.
When Kerry said crooked, corrupt and lying the republicans naturally thought he meant them. It's a mistake anyone could have made. So now I guess Kerry should demand an apology.
