Holder, Gates oppose restrictions on Gitmo trials
(AP) – 4 hours ago

WASHINGTON — The defense secretary and attorney general are opposing an attempt to prohibit Guantanamo detainees from having civilian trials in the United States.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Attorney General Eric Holder said in an Oct. 30 letter that they want the option of having trials by military commission or civilian courts.

1. They oppose bringing them to justice
Republicans love law and order and hate terrorism. But putting actual terrorists on trial? Not so much.

2. McCain, Grahm and Lieberman.. whoda thunk? Boy I'm surprised...
... NOT!

Of course these three vultures would want to hold people forever without charges or due process.

Lieberman is the biggest disappointment however, not just because he's become a Republican, no... because he marched with Martin Luther King in 1963 and now he's about keeping men in shackles for no good reason. My how the worm has turned.

Oh, and fuck you Joe.

3. Republicans don't think our courts should prosecute...murderers?
I mean, that is essentially what many of them are accused of, no? Our courts (and prisons) deal with murderers (including serial murderers) every single day!
